Su Bai got up early the next morning.

Once they were ready, the two drove out of Viridian City.
Viridian Forest was right beside Viridian City, but their destination was Pallet Town, so they did not need to pass through the forest.
The car passed an enormous tree by the road, startling a large flock of Spearow.
The Spearow tried to chase the car and attack it, but unfortunately, their levels were too low for them to keep up.
Watching the flock, Su Bai grew thoughtful. Finally, he smiled with interest, let out a wistful sigh, and turned his gaze away.
After a little over an hour, the car arrived in Pallet Town.
Although Pallet Town was not built along a mountainside, it was indeed nestled among mountains. Its most important building, Professor Oak's Laboratory, founded by the towering authority on Pokémon research himself, really was built in front of a hill.
From a distance, they could see countless Pokémon on the hill.
They were probably all Pokémon left in Professor Oak's care by trainers who had set out from Pallet Town.
The car stopped outside Professor Oak's Laboratory. Carrying their gifts, the two climbed the steps along the hillside path to the laboratory entrance.
They knocked for quite a while before Professor Oak finally opened the door.
The moment the door opened, Su Bai caught the rich, savory aroma of instant noodles-Shrimp and Fish Cake Noodles, at that.
"You must be Miss Cynthia! Welcome, welcome."
Professor Oak enthusiastically ushered them inside.
