Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu survived an ambush by three Trainers, then continued inland toward a volcanic valley where a group of Charizard might live. They reached the valley entrance as Jiang Xiaoyu studied Charizard in her Pokédex.

• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu heard that Xue Xinxin had secured Huaxia’s first victory and earned a Skill Comprehension Card.
• Three Trainers pretended to offer an alliance, then ordered their Pokémon to attack Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu.
• Qin Feng used Hoopa and Pikachu to defeat the three Trainers, while Jiang Xiaoyu watched in amazement and decided to team up with him.
• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu continued inland, and the number of Trainers in the Huaxia region fell from over ninety thousand to just over sixty thousand.
• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu reached a volcanic valley where dragon roars suggested Charizard lived, and Jiang Xiaoyu checked the Pokémon in her Pokédex.

Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu fled into the Charizard valley to escape six approaching Trainers, but the group used Xu Mengfei’s Dragonite to provoke the Charizard and drive them out. Hoopa struck Dragonite with Psybeam, leaving it to be overwhelmed by the Charizard as Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu escaped.

• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu spotted dozens of Charizard in the valley just as six Trainers approached behind them.
• Qin Feng led Jiang Xiaoyu into the valley to evade the group, while the Trainers discussed using the Charizard to eliminate them.
• Xu Mengfei sent her Dragonite to use Hurricane on the Charizard, then directed it toward Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu.
• Qin Feng ordered Hoopa to use Psybeam, which confused Dragonite and sent it crashing to the ground.
• The Charizard attacked Dragonite, and Xu Mengfei recalled it while explaining that Psybeam had confused it.

Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu rested and shared food with their Pokémon before setting out again and finding a Dragonite on an island. They pulled it across the lake with Hoopa’s spatial ability, fought it, and Jiang Xiaoyu prepared to capture it after it was defeated.

• Hoopa used its ring to retrieve fruit, and Qin Feng, Jiang Xiaoyu, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and Hoopa ate before resting beneath the stars.
• Qin Feng complimented Jiang Xiaoyu, and Pikachu and Hoopa burrowed into her arms while joking that she might become their mother.
• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu set off before dawn as the safe zone shrank, then found a Dragonite circling an island in a lake.
• Qin Feng asked Hoopa to pull Dragonite across the lake, and he and Jiang Xiaoyu helped Hoopa haul it through its ring.
• Qin Feng ordered Pikachu and Hoopa to attack Dragonite, and Jiang Xiaoyu took out a Poké Ball after the Pokémon collapsed.

Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu ran into Ye Chen and his bodyguards, who planned to drive them out of the competition. After Ye Chen threatened Jiang Xiaoyu, both sides prepared to fight, and the chapter ended as Ye Chen’s Pokémon launched their attacks.

• Jiang Xiaoyu failed to catch Dragonite before Ye Chen arrived with five or six bodyguards.
• Jiang Xiaoyu offered to stay behind with Jigglypuff so Qin Feng could escape, but Qin Feng pulled her behind him.
• Ye Chen threatened Jiang Xiaoyu and mocked Qin Feng, who warned that he would make the Ye Group disappear if Ye Chen targeted her family.
• Qin Feng told Jiang Xiaoyu to flee and use Jigglypuff’s Sing from a safe distance if the fight went badly.
• Ye Chen’s group sent Venusaur, Magneton, Charmander, Vulpix, Squirtle, and Ekans into battle against Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu’s Pokémon.

Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu turned the battle against Ye Chen’s group with Dragonite’s help, defeating Ye Chen and earning experience for their Pokémon. After checking on the injured Pikachu and beginning to bond with Dragonite, Qin Feng spotted a Water Stone on the island and sent Hoopa to retrieve it.

• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu fought Ye Chen’s group, and Pikachu knocked out Ekans before being badly injured by their counterattacks.
• Jiang Xiaoyu caught Dragonite, which initially ignored her commands while Hoopa and Pikachu continued fighting.
• When Ye Chen’s Pokémon targeted them again, Dragonite took to the air and used Hyper Beam, while Hoopa and Pikachu attacked, turning the battle in their favor.
• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu defeated Ye Chen, and Hoopa and Pikachu leveled up; Qin Feng returned the injured Pikachu to its Poké Ball.
• Jiang Xiaoyu tried to make peace with Dragonite, while Qin Feng spotted a Water Stone on the island and asked Hoopa to retrieve it.

Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu spotted Xu Mengfei’s team at a pond and discovered she had found a Moon Stone that could evolve Jigglypuff. When a nine-person team arrived to seize it, Xu Mengfei prepared her outnumbered group to fight while Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu watched from hiding.

• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu found a pond but hid when they spotted Xu Mengfei’s team there.
• Xu Mengfei recognized a Moon Stone and picked it up, while Qin Feng explained that it could evolve Jiang Xiaoyu’s Jigglypuff.
• A nine-person team arrived with fifteen Pokémon, outnumbering Xu Mengfei’s injured group, and demanded the Moon Stone.
• Xu Mengfei ordered her teammates to release their Pokémon and choose opponents they had type advantages against.
• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu considered waiting for the teams to fight so they could seize the opportunity afterward.

Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu watched Xu Mengfei’s team battle a larger group, then ambushed the exhausted survivors and defeated them. Qin Feng gave Jiang Xiaoyu a Moon Stone so she could evolve Jigglypuff.

• Qin Feng explained to Jiang Xiaoyu that the groups below would fight, and he judged Xu Mengfei’s team to be well coordinated as they overcame their opponents’ numbers.
• Xu Mengfei’s team reduced the opposing group to five Pokémon, then used coordinated attacks to turn the fight around and defeat them.
• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu arrived as Xu Mengfei’s battle was ending, and Xu Mengfei challenged them to fight.
• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu sent out Hoopa, Pikachu, and Dragonite and quickly defeated Xu Mengfei’s injured team.
• Qin Feng gave Jiang Xiaoyu a Moon Stone to evolve Jigglypuff.

Jiang Xiaoyu evolved Jigglypuff into Wigglytuff and took a bath while Qin Feng stood watch, but he spotted an approaching group. The newcomers turned out to be their classmates Wang Lin and Deng Jialiang, and the six joined forces to continue toward the center of Pokémon Island.

• Jiang Xiaoyu used the Moon Stone to evolve Jigglypuff into Wigglytuff and celebrated its new appearance and moves.
• Jiang Xiaoyu went to bathe in the valley pond and told Qin Feng to keep watch; Qin Feng secretly peeked while Hoopa went to warn her about approaching people.
• Jiang Xiaoyu dressed and joined Qin Feng after he spotted four people heading toward the valley.
• Qin Feng and Jiang Xiaoyu recognized Wang Lin and Deng Jialiang, who were traveling with two fellow students from Jiangning University.
• The six reunited and set off together toward the center of Pokémon Island.
