Jiang Yu smiled at Old Yang's expression and said:
"It's okay, Uncle Yang. I'll take pictures for you!"
Old Yang looked up at Jiang Yu and couldn't help smiling.
There was really no need to say it out loud, since everyone was bound to take plenty of pictures and post them in the group chat, especially March 7th.
But hearing it at a time like this always warmed the heart.
Old Yang couldn't help thinking once again what a good kid Jiang Yu was!
In truth, though, he liked all four kids aboard the Express.
Dan Heng was mature but didn't like talking to others. March 7th had a wild imagination but lacked composure. Stelle was like the protagonist of a comic, while Jiang Yu was like a little sun.
The older you got, the more you liked kids. (Not really.)
Himeko turned to the three youngsters and said, "If none of you have any objections, go have a chat with Dan Heng.
"He's probably already started organizing the ecological and survey data on Jarilo-VI, right? It never hurts to gather more information before setting out."
The three nodded, then went to find Dan Heng.
"I went through the Express's database."
Once they found Dan Heng, the ever-reliable Teacher Dan Heng began speaking before Jiang Yu and the others could even open their mouths.
"It seems Jarilo-VI's environment has undergone drastic changes over the past few Amber Eras. It wasn't originally a planet covered in ice and snow."
"Uncle Yang thinks the changes on Jarilo-VI are connected to a Stellaron," Jiang Yu said.
"That's what Welt thinks? Hmm... considering the spatial obstruction along the star rail, that's very likely."
Dan Heng thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement before continuing:
"I conducted a preliminary survey and found one area on the planet's surface with relatively normal temperatures-but by normal, I really mean just barely survivable.
"If we need to choose a site for preliminary exploration on our Trailblaze expedition, I would definitely choose that relatively warm area."
Jiang Yu shivered as he listened. Looking down at his thin clothes, he rubbed his arms and asked:
"Say... if it's really cold down there, aren't my clothes way too thin...? Do you have any spare clothes?"
All three looked at Jiang Yu when they heard that.
Stelle glanced at her own clothes and suddenly realized that she seemed to have only this one outfit, too.
That was fine when she was just staying aboard the Express, but having only one outfit was a bit limiting when she was going out trailblazing.
March 7th shook her head as well.
The pretty girl certainly didn't lack clothes, but most of the ones she had bought herself or Himeko had made for her were cute little dresses. Jiang Yu might look good in them, but they obviously wouldn't do much to keep him warm.
Dan Heng sighed. "Wear mine."
"Thank you, Teacher Dan Heng!"
Dan Heng nodded without saying anything else, then turned to fetch some clothes.
Before he left, Stelle said, "Himeko wants us all to go together."
Dan Heng replied, "I figured. Before you boarded, whenever March 7th wanted to go somewhere, Himeko would have Mr. Welt and me accompany her. Now that you're here, I doubt I'm the one getting a break."
Jiang Yu spread his hands. "What can we do? We need someone mature, levelheaded, and knowledgeable to come along! Since Uncle Yang and Himeko aren't coming, it has to be you, Teacher Dan Heng."
It was a very straightforward compliment.
Dan Heng nodded, then returned to the archives to find clothes for Jiang Yu.
Stelle said to March 7th, "Dan Heng doesn't seem very enthusiastic?"
"Oh, he's always putting on that cool act!" March 7th waved a hand, looking thoroughly used to it.
Then she draped her arms around Stelle and Jiang Yu. "Don't be nervous, you two. Dan Heng and I are seasoned trailblazers already. Just stick with us, and we'll make sure you get meat to eat! Uh... if there's any meat to be found on that planet."
March 7th then turned to look at Jarilo-VI outside the window.
"Sigh... whenever I look at this planet, I can't help thinking-it's a whole world of ice. Could it have something to do with my past? Once that thought gets into my head, I just can't stop.
"...But what trapped me back then was a rare substance called Six-Phased Ice... I doubt you'd find it on an ordinary planet, right?"
"Maybe this is your home planet?" Stelle joked.
March 7th hurriedly shook her head. "Honestly, I really hope this isn't my home! It looks freezing. Pretty girls don't handle the cold very well!"
As he listened, Jiang Yu looked March 7th's outfit up and down. Neither her shirt nor her jacket looked particularly thick, and her skirt offered even less warmth, leaving her smooth legs bare.
Most importantly, judging by her expression, March 7th had absolutely no intention of changing into warmer clothes like he had before heading down to Jarilo-VI.
"Then why aren't you changing? Are you planning to wear that to Jarilo-VI?" Jiang Yu asked with an innocent look.
March 7th turned around and glared at him, declaring fiercely, "Stay out of a pretty girl's business!"
Dan Heng silently walked over at that moment and draped the jacket he had found over Jiang Yu's shoulders.
It was the same style of dark green jacket he wore, though it was a little oversized on Jiang Yu's frame.
That was just right, though. Jiang Yu found looser clothes more comfortable, and he quickly put on the jacket that matched Dan Heng's.
Dan Heng silently joined them by the window and looked out at the frozen planet.
Throughout all this, March 7th kept staring at him.
Puzzled, Dan Heng turned to her. "...What is it? Is there something on my face?"
"No... I was just wondering what interesting things the four of us will run into this time."
March 7th spread her hands, then gave him a teasing smile.
"...Hehe, Dan Heng, you may always look so cold, but the things you do are pretty warm!"
Dan Heng sighed. "...This world really has more than its share of misfortunes. First it encounters a Stellaron, and now it's caught your attention. Besides, whether my actions are warm or not won't actually keep you warm. Are you really not going to change?"
"A pretty girl has her pride!" March 7th lifted her chin, looking thoroughly pleased with herself.
"That's not what pride is for..." Dan Heng pressed a hand to his forehead, then shook his head. "Never mind... as long as you're happy."
Stelle glanced at Jiang Yu, who had changed and was ready to go, then asked, "Jiang Yu and I are both ready. Are we leaving now?"
"Of course!"
March 7th smiled, her voice brimming with excitement as she shouted like she was calling out a rallying cry, "Jarilo-VI trailblazing squad, let's move out!"
