"Yan, are you all right?" Rose asked.
"I'm fine." Yan's voice was a little weak.
Usually so proud, she actually seemed somewhat dispirited now.
She had imagined dying in battle and had even been trampled underfoot before, but she had never imagined meeting someone who could take her Flame Sword so easily, as though it had belonged to him all along.
Mercer hadn't used force just now, and his words hadn't exactly been vicious either.
Yet falling into his hands had left Yan feeling powerless.
Perhaps if the boy before her unleashed his full strength, even her thousand-plus years of combat experience wouldn't be enough to withstand his attacks.
"That ability he used to make me fly over wasn't any form of divine power we're familiar with. He... doesn't seem to be from this world."
Yan stared at Mercer's back as she spoke slowly.
"Not from this world? What, is he from some other world?" Rose's mouth twitched. "Could anything be that ridiculous?"
Yan spread a hand toward their surroundings. "Isn't our reality already ridiculous? Before the war came, things like this only existed in your science fiction."
Rose glanced at her. "I suppose you've got a point. But at least for now, he really doesn't seem to mean us people of Great Xia any harm. You'll just have to take things as they come."
Yan nodded silently.
Liang Bing, who had been following Mercer the whole time, lightly pressed her ear and whispered, "A'To, analyze the Earthling in front of me. See what's different about him."
In the atmosphere hung a pair of enormous black wings spanning over a hundred meters.
This was Liang Bing's Demon Fleet.
In the central control room.
A demon two or three meters tall stood behind an operator, studying the data panel before him.
