"Mr. Moriarty, when did I ever say I'd been to Tingen?"

Lorne slowly rose from his chair and approached the door, one step at a time.

He had told no one about Tingen. Mrs. Griffin didn't know, and neither did Danitz or the others.

"I-" Klein swallowed instinctively. A bead of cold sweat trickled down his temple as he hurried to explain:

"I've been to Tingen before, so I know there's a Daffodil Street there. And Tingen really is north of Backlund."

"So I jumped to that conclusion without thinking."

"Mm, a perfectly reasonable answer." Lorne now stood blocking the door. Looking at Klein, who was still seated, he gave an inscrutable smile. "But there are plenty of cities to the north, and quite a few have a Daffodil Street-"

Lorne murmured to himself, and every word made Klein's heart tremble.

Only minutes ago, Klein had been controlling the conversation. Now their positions had abruptly reversed.

Lorne lifted his head slightly, seemingly glancing casually at the ceiling.

Good. No sense of being watched, and there's nothing unusual about this man.

That meant the higher being wasn't watching him every moment-

A smile on his face, Lorne approached again, step by step.

"Mr. Dysenk, what are you trying to do?" Klein stood and instinctively backed away. But the room was small, and after only a few steps, his back met the cold wall.

"Nothing. I've just told you so much about myself, and now I have a few questions of my own for you, Mr. Moriarty."

"I..." Klein barely managed to keep smiling, but bitterness crept into his heart.

Damn it, he must have noticed something! I'm such an idiot. I let him lead me right into this! If he really discovers anything, Benson and Melissa might get dragged into it.
