The proposal caught Klein's attention. Setting aside the part about impersonating Helene for the moment, he asked:
"A witch? You mean Tracy-I remember she's a Demoness of Affliction?"
"Yes." Neph sat up straight. "Once I become a demigod, you can use Helene's identity to board the Black Death and assassinate Tracy."
"Then you'll have to be careful," Klein reminded her. "You can't let Helene out too early. From what you've described, if Helene goes missing, Tracy will probably send people to look for her, right? What if they find her before then?"
That is a problem, but if the assassination doesn't succeed on the first attempt, it'll only put her on guard. And Tracy can't die before I figure out what the revelation means-
Neph frowned, lost in thought.
"I'll give it some more thought," she told Klein. "Well, let's be optimistic. Maybe I'll find the answer to the revelation in Tracy's memories as soon as I go back?"
Rather than discourage her, Klein went along with her words to reassure her. "There's no rush. Maybe the answer will suddenly come to you?"
He paused and studied Neph's expression before continuing, "Speaking of which, what do you know about Kalvetua, the Sea God?"
Neph froze for a moment, then spoke as she recalled what she knew:
"Have things reached that point on your end? Is Kalvetua dead yet? Hmm, judging by the timing-no, never mind. If things have changed too much, the timing might not be accurate, so there's no point using it as a reference. I'll just tell you about Kalvetua.
"He's a Sequence 3 Sea King who was lucky enough to swallow a Beyonder characteristic without losing control. But that's as far as he could go. With the Book of Calamity stolen, he can't maintain his stability. Because
