Groselle's Travels
Was she hinting that I should make an offer? Five thousand pounds-tsk, I couldn't afford that either... Klein's thoughts stirred, and a good idea came to him.
"I have a friend who's interested in this key. Before I boarded, she asked me to discuss a transaction with you."
"A transaction?" Edwina asked.
Klein smiled slightly and asked Edwina, "Have you ever heard of a book called Groselle's Travels?"
Edwina's gaze settled on Gehrman. Klein could see that her expression remained composed. After more than ten seconds of silence, he heard her ask:
"Where did you hear that name?"
"May I see the book?" Klein did not answer her question.
Edwina nodded without hesitation. "Please follow me."
Edwina led him up to the second floor and into a room with a half-open door. Klein spotted the enormous Black Iron Key on a wooden table. Looking around, he saw many other items stored there.
Seemingly noticing his gaze, Edwina explained:
"These are the trophies of our various treasure hunts. Some are merely keepsakes, while others have yet to reveal their value and require further research."
Trophies of their various treasure hunts? Was she a collector too? Hmm? Why was this gold coin in a picture frame? Its design was unusual. That asymmetrical style belonged to the Fourth Epoch...
Klein looked around. Seeing his interest, Edwina did not immediately bring out Groselle's Travels. Instead, she began introducing the items his gaze fell on:
"This is a gold coin from the Solomon Empire of the Fourth Epoch."
Having made a start, Edwina proceeded to introduce several more pieces in her collection. The way she showed off her treasures reminded Klein of the great detective Isengard Stanton in Backlund.
