"Madam?" A young man in a police uniform looked towards the entrance of the police station, where a woman who had just rushed in with a frightened expression had finally stopped and was constantly looking back, as if checking for someone who was following her.
The young man frowned, wanting to step forward, but the woman instinctively took a step back, her gaze fixed on him with a scrutinizing look.
The young policeman had no choice but to stop there, and tentatively asked, "Madam, do you need...?"
"I'm calling the police!" The woman finally made up her mind. She glanced back, shifted her feet a few times so that her back was no longer facing the police station's main entrance. "I... I encountered... a paranormal event."
"A paranormal event?" The young policeman's expression turned strange.
"Yes," the woman nodded, took a deep breath, and seemed to gather her thoughts, "My name is Vera Norton, I'm a high school teacher, and that evening, on my way home from work, I saw a man..."
Vera took a soft breath before continuing:
He looked completely ordinary, with no distinctive features, and then he just appeared there... And only now do I realize that I don't remember his face at all! I... I can't remember him at all...
"And that Robot... that ' Fully Automatic Wish Machine '... I should have realized it sooner. Such a magical Robot, why haven't I heard anyone else talking about it? It... no, it was specifically targeting me!"
Her words weren't entirely coherent, but they at least touched on a clearly unusual point. The young policeman raised an eyebrow and asked:
"Fully Automatic Wish Machine?"
"Yes." Vera nodded.
The young policeman thought for a moment, then called his colleague. She was quickly taken to a room, questioned, and given a cup of hot Chocolate.
"What wishes did you make?" the new policeman asked, sitting across from her. "Did they all come true?"
Vera nodded and stated:
"I made three wishes in total. My first wish was to become beautiful. When I opened my eyes, I found myself even more beautiful than before."
"My second wish is to get a promotion. I'm currently the school's vice principal in charge of academics, but of course, I still need to pass an evaluation before I can officially obtain this position."
"The third wish... the third wish..."
"What about the third wish?" the policeman wearing the rank of senior inspector asked.
"I wished for a perfect marriage..." Vera mumbled, "You know, this wish can't be granted immediately, so after making it, I went home. Until today, when I got home, I suddenly found there was someone else in the house... no, a Puppet."
Vera gritted her teeth, the Oldest One look of terror returning to her face, her voice trembling:
"That Puppet! It looks exactly like a person! It can talk, it can smile at me, and it even feels warm to the touch! But it's just a Puppet! It... it says its name is Sa Jess, and it's a work by Master Mason..."
"You said you..." the senior inspector frowned, "... saw a moving Puppet in your home?"
"Yes!" Vera's voice was high-pitched, almost screaming each syllable, "It Door Opening to greet me! It said it had tidied the house! And it made me dinner!"
"Hmm..." The senior inspector nodded, his expression growing increasingly somber.
"I know you think I'm lying, that I'm mentally unstable," Vera pleaded, "But that Puppet is in my house right now, please, go and take a look..."
"No, I completely believe you," the senior inspector stood up. "We have a special team that handles these kinds of cases. Madam, could you please wait here for a moment? David, you stay with this lady for a while."
He turned and left. Vera sat nervously in her seat, sipping her hot Chocolate, her eyes fixed on the policeman named David, as if afraid he would turn into Puppet at any moment.
She didn't have to wait long. Soon, a female police superintendent and a male police inspector walked in one after the other and sat down in the prepared chairs. The female superintendent took the statement, glanced at it briefly, and then said:
>p/<". In detail, please describe the entire process, including the 'opportunity' and 'autonomous' aspects of the journey.
>p/<...
>p/<. She was flipping through the case files, her head bowed, when she saw the policewoman sitting nearby, looking at her with astonishment. Only then did she realize where she was. She blinked blankly, her head throbbing, and she clutched her hand, seemingly in a daze. The air was filled with the fragrance of flowers from a deep sleep.
>p/<. "I'll go with you on this trip, before that... -- the 'opportunity' for you to take the initiative to fully utilize your abilities," she said, raising her head. "We need to go and investigate your home next."
>p/<: asked, Lavie looked up as if she was thinking of something, and then continued...
>p/<"? What kind of school are you in? You said it's the school district of Huxi, right?"
>p/<. The answer to the question is to pull down the scroll. Learn Literature
">p/<". "You're much better than me now, your teaching level and salary are probably not bad, huh? Are you interested in a literary job?" A slight smile appeared on the policewoman's face. "... Ah, a literary degree."
>p/<. Confused, I looked at Lavie...? Ah...
>p/<. If there are any questions or problems with the content on the document, please confirm the next step. "Push the case file forward, you can consider it again later."
>p/<...
>p/<: A low voice said, the doorman's office sign "Long Queue" was hanging, and the doorman knocked on the door. It was already past Monday when he entered.
>p/<"...'The machine is willing to move freely' was mentioned again, the new telegram, the long queue"
>p/<. The road to the policewoman's first job. See the details below.
People often hope to become themselves, so he was the first one to wish for it. He also developed war syndrome, losing one leg and one arm in the war," Naravi began in her book, "This was a soldier who had been discharged from the army."
..."
Vera turned the page and continued:
"His second wish was for his mental state to return to normal, and both of these wishes were successfully fulfilled. As for his third wish, it was to obtain a noble title."
"After making this wish, he caught the eye of a down-on-her-luck marquis. Her family had fallen on hard times, possessing only a noble title and enormous debts. Moreover, the marquis was addicted to wine and women, and her health was severely compromised."
"And according to rumors, this marquis was cruel and enjoyed watching bloody scenes. After his first refusal, she used her private army to search for him..."
"...?" The captain, who had been keeping his head down, raised it, his brows furrowing slightly. "Okay, I understand. You can leave now, but leave the documents behind."
"The ' Fully Automatic Wish Machine ' can appear anywhere in the city, with a very high degree of randomness; no pattern has been found so far..."
"Most wishes made to it are granted normally, but a small number are Distortion, mostly concentrated on the third wish. Of course, this could also be because the wisher becomes more Indulgence with the third wish, starting to make overly greedy demands..."
"Its ability to grant wishes primarily involves changing one's appearance, but it covers a wide range of areas, almost omnipotent..."
Its frequency of occurrence is also irregular...
"This is a typical Mystical Item that needs to be sealed, and it clearly exceeds the level of a '2' Sealed Artifact. We hope the Archbishop and high-ranking deacons will come personally to handle it, or provide an effective sealing method..."
"Are you moving to a different city?" Neph tapped Arrodes, making the text on it disappear, and looked up at Klein.
"Yes," Klein shrugged. "Obviously, my actions have attracted the attention of the Church. If I stay any longer, I'll have to outwit the Archbishop and the high-ranking deacons. If I succeed, I might face the pursuit of Angel."
"I don't think so," Neph said with a light laugh, setting Arrodes down. "If you don't mind, you can wait. After all, the higher-ups of the Church of Evernight should be able to guess that you're playing the ' Miracle Invoker,' and there's a high probability that those who come are acquaintances of yours."
She paused, then continued, "I think Leonard should have already advanced to Demigod, right?"
"Indeed," Klein nodded, acknowledging the matter, "The Church of Evernight has created quite a few vacancies, so senior deacons like Leonard have generally been promoted."
"Then you might have a chance to meet him," Neph chuckled. "You two could go on a company-funded trip."
"What if it's someone else?" Klein asked.
"Aren't you going to run away?" Neph shrugged. "Anyway, judging from this report, the Church wouldn't send Angel directly, neither morally nor logically. Besides, they can't Divination for you, yet you possess Arrodes..."
"Hmm..." Klein, "To be honest, what's most tempting about this is that the expenses can be reimbursed..."
"... I'm going to quote that line now," Neph rolled her eyes, "Mr. Fool, is your Divinity perhaps...?"
"It's stinginess," Klein nodded. "Yes, that's right."
Neph was speechless. Klein, seeing her expression, laughed:
"Speaking of which, it seems like you haven't paid attention to Moon City and City of Silver for quite some time now?"
"Oh, you can't say you didn't try. You told them that ' The Fool ' and 'The All-Knowing and All-Powerful Lord,' through the mediation of their shared child, reconciled, and therefore, they can share the same faith..."
He paused, then spoke with an even stranger expression:
"You also claim that their children are the light of the Apocalypse, Angel of Redemption... No, before you said these things, did you consider your Lord's thoughts?"
"Since He is the 'All-Knowing and All-Powerful Lord'..." Neph blinked gently, "How could He not know I was going to say that? Since He didn't stop me, it must mean He tacitly approved."
"... Very good," Klein raised a hand to his forehead, "I've read the myths created by the City of Silver. Little ' Sun ' told me that it was approved by you, but there's one thing I don't understand..."
He shook his head and asked curiously, "Since you say they both gave birth to offspring, then who is the mother and who is the father?"
"If you'd like to get pregnant, I wouldn't mind," Neph glanced at Him, "I'll tell them that one of your incarnations, Maria, has taken on the responsibility of bearing the child..."
>p/<"... I", refused to accept, even Enlake ", no, no"
>p/<. Enlake looked at the ground with a doubt, then sat back down, and then suddenly stopped, as if sensing everything, he turned his head away.
>p/<. Ask her, "What did you see that you looked like?"
>p/<: A phantom image appeared, and Enlake raised his hand.
The slow, heavy movement of the hand, like a giant Buddha's door, was suddenly opened, revealing the "King of the Court" inscribed with a dim, yellowish light.
>p/<. Ask him, "What about you?"
>p/<. "I want to go back, um... I'm so scared," Funa raised her hand and drew a cross on her chest, taking a light breath. "... I can't see it."
>p/<: It was just a low laugh, he didn't say anything, but Enlake immediately understood, she didn't say anything back then.
>p/<". The necessary instrument is enough to fill the strange things in the face, so I can still get it back--enough to fill the secret of my life, it's really terrible.
>p/<". A little thing to borrow", he said quietly, glancing at Funa, "Can you borrow a little thing from me?"
>p/<. Sdroa tapped her head and then lowered her gaze. She stared at Enlake, her image faded from the painting, which had been erased.
>p/<. Ask him, "Will you stay or leave, or do you hope to leave even more?"
>p/<...

>p/<. A document was sent to Nari, a religious site, from Denarren.
He was held responsible for the incident by a high-ranking official.
.
Back in his room, Leonard leisurely leaned back in his chair, put his feet up on the desk, and then began to read the documents one by one.
"Merlin Hermes, Wandering Magician who finds pleasure in granting others' wishes... ' The Fully Automatic Wish Machine '... The Sequence 4 of the ' Seer ' Pathway is called ' Bizarro Sorcerer,' Sequence 3 is called ' Scholar of Yore,' Sequence 2 is called ' Miracle Invoker '..."
Leonard watched for a while, then suddenly fell silent.
After a few seconds, he asked in a low voice:
"Old Man, how many Angel using the ' Seer ' Pathway are still active on Earth?"
Pallez Zoroaster clicked his tongue.
"This is just acting; there should only be one ' Miracle Invoker ' left to play at the moment."
"You should know who I'm talking about."
Leonard glanced at the documents in his hand again and muttered something.
"You had a lot of fun..."
He had decided that the main purpose of this mission was to act as a "Nightwatcher," digest the Potion within his body, and Travel incidentally. As for dealing with the events, the focus was on finding a plausible explanation.
>p/<. He stood up, his feet retrieving Denalen, the thick stack of materials completely turned over, utterly bored.
>p/<. The seal of the item, level "1", is a high-ranking official position. This is something he has already taken to obtain.
