Sitting at her desk, Fors froze. She felt as though inexplicable whispers had reached her ears. Unlike the Full Moon Whispers she had heard before, however, these murmurs carried none of that deranged feeling that left her confused and on the verge of losing control. Instead, they were quite rational, so she instinctively tried to make out their contents.
What have I done?
Only after deciphering the words did Fors realize this, and her eyes visibly filled with terror.
She had been working hard in the moonlight just moments ago-actually, she had procrastinated until the final day, and her deadline was tomorrow morning-but this forbidden knowledge had suddenly appeared in her mind for no reason whatsoever.
Meanwhile, somewhere Fors could not see, Nimrod stood amid the crown of a distant tree, his entire body concealed in darkness as he watched her. Glimmers occasionally flickered in his eyes.
He was continually "gifting" the thoughts that arose in his mind to Fors. This was a Dream Stealer's ability-although ordinary Dream Stealers at this stage did not possess the ability to "steal in reverse,"
once Nimrod had fully digested Fire Thief, the abilities Amon had removed returned as well. His Beyonder abilities were now enough for him to impersonate Amon outright.
Fors abruptly sprang to her feet with a bang, then her expression contorted as though she had suffered tremendous pain.
There was no need for misunderstanding. Nimrod had not transmitted any forbidden knowledge to Fors. She had simply stood up too quickly and banged her leg.
Fors had no time to feel the pain, however. Looking tense, she instinctively used her Apprentice Beyonder ability to pass through
