Ch. 222Out with the Old, In with the New (End)

Nimrod recruited Emlyn into a long-term operation with the Fool’s Chosen, while Klein prepared to spend New Year’s with Benson and Melissa and Audrey attended her coming-of-age ball. Nimrod then chose to preserve the Black Iron Hall, spreading gray fog through it as the Celestial Worthy warned him about relying on destiny.

  • Nimrod visited Emlyn at the Church of the Earth Mother, revealed he knew of the Progenitor’s revelation, and invited him to join a long-term operation with the Fool’s Chosen.
  • Emlyn decided to borrow the church’s prayer room after Nimrod left.
  • Klein declined Nimrod’s invitation to spend time with his family, went shopping with Nimrod’s cookware, and planned to cook for Benson and Melissa.
  • Nimrod appeared to Audrey before her coming-of-age ball, wished her happiness, and vanished when her parents arrived to take her to the Queen.
  • Nimrod told the Celestial Worthy he had decided to keep the Black Iron Hall, then spread gray fog inward across it.

Ch. 224The White Agate

Nimrod brought Lumian-na aboard a ship sailing through the 1350 world, where she hoped to digest her Witch potion and meet Gehrman Sparrow. At a gathering of their team, Lumian-na recognized Klein Moretti as Gehrman, while Klein noticed her excitement.

  • Nimrod and Lumian-na boarded a ship at Pritz Harbor, and Nimrod warned her not to reveal that she came from another world.
  • Lumian-na settled into her cabin, placed a mild curse on its lock, and joined Nimrod's gathering with their other teammates.
  • Emlyn asked whether anyone else was still coming, and Nimrod said their final teammate would arrive shortly.
  • Klein Moretti entered as Gehrman Sparrow, and Lumian-na recognized him with barely contained excitement.
  • Klein noticed Lumian-na staring at him and wondered whether she knew him.

Ch. 225The gang

Klein, posing as Gehrman Sparrow, met Nimrod’s adventuring team as Nimrod outlined their voyage from Pritz Harbor to Bayam and onward toward the Southern Continent. After the meeting, Klein questioned Lumian-na about her faith, while Nimrod gave her money to explore the ship once it got underway.

  • Klein introduced himself as Gehrman Sparrow, and Lumian-na, Audrey, Emlyn, Sharron, and Nimrod introduced themselves and their sequences.
  • Nimrod revealed that he was a Sequence 4 Parasite and explained the team’s plan to reach Bayam, build a long-distance ship, and explore south toward the Southern Continent.
  • Nimrod said the group would not become pirates and urged them to build trust, then warned that their high sequences could attract danger aboard the ship.
  • After the meeting, Nimrod told Klein that Lumian-na was his goddaughter, and Klein asked her who she believed in.
  • Lumian-na named the Eternal Blazing Sun, and Klein left to investigate the ship.
  • Lumian-na asked Nimrod for money to explore the ship, and he handed her his wallet and sent her off.

Ch. 226A chance encounter

Aboard the White Agate, Lumian-na approached Klein’s Gehrman Sparrow persona and shared how Nimrod had saved her after an evil-god catastrophe and supported her goals of revenge and resurrecting her sister. Klein offered to help if she ever found a resurrection ritual, then returned to his room and prepared to summon a messenger.

  • Lumian-na invited her new teammates to lunch, but the meal remained subdued.
  • Lumian-na found Klein alone on deck and asked why he had accepted Nimrod’s invitation; Klein said he wanted money.
  • Klein asked why Lumian-na had gone to sea, and she explained that Nimrod had saved her, provided her potions, and supported her search for revenge and a way to resurrect her sister.
  • Lumian-na admitted she trusted Nimrod because he genuinely cared for her, despite knowing their relationship involved mutual self-interest.
  • Thinking of Old Neil and his own past, Klein offered to help Lumian-na if she found a resurrection ritual.
  • Klein returned to his room, gathered mysticism materials, and prepared to summon his own messenger.

Ch. 227Messenger

Klein tried several incantations before successfully summoning Reinette Tinekerr as his messenger, while Nimrod encountered her in the Spirit World and asked her to keep his identity secret. That evening, Nimrod told the group that a fishman had tried to board the ship, revealing a Beyonder incident had already occurred.

  • Klein attempted several messenger-summoning incantations, then summoned Reinette Tinekerr and formed a contract with her.
  • Reinette noticed Nimrod’s unusual presence in the Spirit World, and Nimrod sealed the area before asking her to keep his identity secret.
  • Nimrod told Reinette that he and his companion had helped Sharron and Maric, and said he wanted to oppose the Indulgence Faction and the Mother Tree of Desire.
  • At dinner, Emlyn said he had expected a Beyonder incident, and Nimrod revealed that a fishman had tried to climb aboard and attack the passengers.

Ch. 228Fishman

Nimrod and his companions prepared to hunt a fishman aboard the White Agate, while Nimrod reflected on his potion advancement and plans to obtain Fate and Error pathway characteristics. The group gathered on deck beneath the crimson moon, waiting to begin the hunt.

  • Nimrod invited the others to hunt a fishman, and Klein, Lumian-na, Sharron, Audrey, and Emlyn agreed to join.
  • Klein warned Emlyn against drinking a Beyonder creature’s blood, and Nimrod suggested that Emlyn obtain blood from patients at the next port in exchange for treatment and payment.
  • Nimrod insisted that the adventurers maintain strict moral standards, and Sharron said that desires should be restrained but also released at times.
  • Nimrod reflected on digesting his Begging Monk and Robot potions, pursuing advancement through the Fate pathway, and eventually competing with Amon for Fate’s power.
  • Nimrod went to the deck, where Gehrman Sparrow, Audrey, Lumian-na, Emlyn, and Sharron gathered beneath the cold crimson moonlight to await the hunt.

Ch. 229The hunt

Nimrod’s group joined forces with Creevis and his companions to hunt a fishman aboard the ship, and Lumian-na’s trap brought the creature within reach. After Klein killed it with a Demon-Hunting Bullet, Nimrod called out a captain who had been watching them, leaving the group to inspect the spoils.

  • Creevis agreed to split the hunt’s proceeds with Nimrod’s group and brought along Donna and Danton.
  • Lumian-na used the fishman’s slime and the Fallen Mercury to alter its fate, while the others took positions around her.
  • The fishman leaped onto the deck and lunged at Lumian-na, who struck it and then drew back to give her companions a chance to fight.
  • Klein shot the fishman in the head with a Demon-Hunting Bullet, killing it, and Emlyn treated Lumian-na’s slime-burned hand.
  • Nimrod checked that the fishman was dead, then called out to a middle-aged captain watching from the far end of the deck.

Ch. 230Late-night barbecue

After the group hunted a Fish Monster, Captain Elland bought the corpse and hosted a barbecue aboard the White Agate. Klein and Nimrod shared their worries about finding a way home, and the ship later reached Damir Port, where the group considered going ashore.

  • Nimrod sold the Fish Monster to Elland and asked to borrow the cook to prepare it.
  • Elland hosted a late-night barbecue, where the group ate Fish Monster and discussed sea treasures and their plans for the Rorsted Archipelago.
  • Klein asked Nimrod whether they could find a way home, and Nimrod assured him that advancing their Sequences would help.
  • During the following two days, Nimrod worked to wear away the mental imprint within the Parasite while he and the Celestial Worthy conversed peacefully.
  • Nimrod asked his companions whether they wanted to go ashore; Sharron declined because the Rose School was hunting her.
  • The White Agate sailed into Damir Port, and the others prepared to explore or pursue their plans there.

Ch. 231Gehrman Sparrow's Debut

Klein and his companions entered the lawless Damir Port, where he beat down a swindler who tried to extort him at a bar. As they left, a Hunter emerged from the shadows and asked whether they wanted to join his group.

  • Klein warned Audrey and Emlyn to stay cautious in Damir Port, while Lumian-na and Audrey surveyed the crowds and spotted signs of danger.
  • Klein and his companions entered the Flying Fish and Wine bar, where Nimrod joined Elland at a card game and Audrey discreetly observed the patrons.
  • Klein realized that Sea Eagle Logan and a naval-looking man were working together to extort him, then knocked Logan down and attacked the bartender.
  • Klein left the bar with Lumian-na as the guards approached, while Elland warned Nimrod that White Shark might retaliate and Nimrod agreed to help.
  • Klein noticed someone following them, drew the person into a secluded alley, and heard the Hunter ask whether they wanted to join his group.

Ch. 232The unlucky Danitz

Klein and Lumian-na confronted Danitz in a pirate bar, while Audrey considered justice after witnessing the lawless conditions at sea. As Danitz returned to the Golden Dream, he discovered that Klein and Lumian-na were aboard the same ship.

  • Lumian-na declined Danitz's invitation to join his treasure-seeking party, and Klein recognized him as the pirate with a 3,000-pound bounty.
  • Klein and Lumian-na intimidated Danitz with their supernatural auras, and Danitz admitted he was on vacation before Klein asked where White Shark was.
  • Audrey used her Psychiatrist abilities to deter a man at the bar, then listened as Nimrod explained the danger of the pirate port and discussed George III, Roselle, and the nature of political order.
  • Emlyn carried a suitcase of blood plasma back to the ship while Danitz mistook him for a suspicious figure and hurried toward his own cabin.
  • Danitz decided to end his vacation and return to the Golden Dream, only to find Klein and Lumian-na waiting on deck.

Ch. 233An opportunity

Klein and Lumian-na kept Danitz under watch aboard the White Agate while Nimrod offered Lumian-na a chance to hunt pirates and digest her potion. Nimrod then told Klein that Lumian-na’s older sister had been a transmigrator who died after becoming involved in an evil-god sacrifice.

  • Klein warned Danitz not to let the ship come under attack, and Lumian-na confined him to his room with warning traps.
  • Lumian-na reflected on the pleasure she had felt while killing several violent men and resolved to set limits so she would not lose herself.
  • Nimrod offered Lumian-na a chance to hunt a pirate ship carrying several hundred pirates and two low-to-mid Sequence Beyonders, and she agreed to go with Fallen Mercury.
  • Nimrod transported Lumian-na away, then told Klein that Lumian-na’s older sister had come from their world and had been a Sequence 7 Warlock.
  • Nimrod explained that Lumian-na’s sister had been damaged by the Hidden Sage and died after becoming involved in an evil-god sacrifice, and he planned to guide Lumian-na through hunting pirates.

Ch. 234The Red Skull Pirate Crew (Annihilated)

Lumian-na infiltrated the Red Skull pirate ship and killed its crew, including Sea Wolf Jansen and One-Eye Anderson, while Nimrod helped steer the sinking vessel toward the White Agate. Elland saw the pirate ship’s destruction and ordered his crew to avoid it and report the incident at Bansy Harbor.

  • Lumian-na used Mirror Magic, black flames, and frost to sabotage the Red Skull and kill sailors while hiding aboard.
  • Sea Wolf Jansen and One-Eye Anderson prepared to raid the White Agate, but Lumian-na ambushed them and killed both leaders.
  • Lumian-na escaped the Red Skull as its fractured hull began to sink, and Nimrod took control of the ship while discussing his parasitism with the Celestial Worthy.
  • Elland witnessed the Red Skull’s destruction and ordered the White Agate to avoid the wreck and sail to Bansy Harbor to report the incident.

Ch. 235"Pyromaniac"

Lumian-na finished digesting the Witch potion and drank the Pyromaniac potion, reaching Sequence 7 in both pathways after confronting memories of Aurore and Cordu. She survived the advancement and told Nimrod she had seen her sister and villagers, unsure whether it was an illusion or Aurore's soul briefly awakening.

  • Lumian-na confirmed that she had finished digesting the Witch potion, and Nimrod prepared the ingredients for her Pyromaniac advancement.
  • Nimrod helped Lumian-na brew the Pyromaniac potion, which she drank before setting herself ablaze.
  • Lumian-na relived scenes from Cordu and nearly lost herself in memories of Aurore, who urged her to keep living.
  • Lumian-na regained control, completed her advancement to Sequence 7 Witch and Sequence 7 Pyromaniac, and discovered her new fire abilities, including Fire of Destruction.
  • Lumian-na told Nimrod that she had seen Aurore and the villagers during the advancement and could not tell whether the vision was an illusion or Aurore's soul awakening.

Ch. 236Bansy: Opportunity or Trap?

Nimrod checked Lumian-na’s sister’s soul fragments and stole the Contractee gift inside her, while the group learned that their ship would dock at the ominous Bansy Harbor. A die’s divination warned them that the harbor held considerable danger.

  • Nimrod confirmed that Aurore’s soul fragments within Lumian-na were unharmed, then used Theft to take Lumian-na’s Contractee gift.
  • Danitz learned that a pirate ship had been destroyed at sea and reluctantly joined Lumian-na and Nimrod for dinner.
  • Klein told the group that Captain Elland planned to dock at Bansy Harbor before continuing to Bayam.
  • Danitz described Bansy Harbor’s history of disappearances, human sacrifice, strange customs, and blood-based food.
  • Lumian-na asked what would happen if someone without a head answered a knock, leaving Danitz unable to respond.
  • A die used for divination changed from 18 to 7, indicating that Bansy Harbor posed considerable danger.

Ch. 237Bansy Harbor

Nimrod’s group entered Bansy Harbor after divination warned them of danger and found the locals behaving unnaturally. They rescued the outsiders at the Green Lemon Dining Room and learned the harbor’s people had been conquered by the source of Hunters and Demonesses.

  • Nimrod had Lumian-na roll the die, then decided the group should enter Bansy Harbor and bring back the captain and others.
  • Klein, Lumian-na, Nimrod, Sharron, Audrey, and Emlyn set out while Danitz stayed aboard the ship.
  • Lumian-na destroyed a burning, advancing head with the transformed Fire of Destruction, drawing the attention of the City of Calamity; Nimrod warned her to report further changes and told Sharron to stop observing the Spirit World.
  • Klein’s group reached the Green Lemon Dining Room, where Lumian-na kicked in the door and Klein persuaded Creevis, Uldi Blanch, and the other outsiders to return to the ship.
  • The owner summoned Dimordo’s family, and the outsiders joined the group in heading toward the Telegraph Office.
  • Nimrod told Lumian-na that Bansy’s locals had been conquered by the source of Hunters and Demonesses.

Ch. 238Fallen Bishop

Klein and his companions crossed monster-infested Bansy Harbor to reach Captain Elland and prepare to return to their ship. After Bishop Miller ambushed them outside the Church of Storms, the group revealed its strength, and Miller decided to target the apparently weakest person among them.

  • Lumian-na sensed that the group was being watched, and Klein divined that they needed to find Elland quickly.
  • Nimrod used shallow parasitism to send the ordinary passengers back to the ship and opened a passage through the spirit world.
  • Klein followed his dowsing rod toward the church while Lumian-na and the others fought monsters along the way.
  • Klein identified himself to Elland, and Nimrod opened the church doors so the group could meet him.
  • Bishop Miller attacked Elland with wind pressure and sent six headless zombies against the group.
  • Lumian-na hurled a spear of Fire of Destruction at the zombies, while Miller saw the powerful Beyonders around him and chose the apparently weakest young man as his target.

Ch. 239The turmoil subsided

Klein and his allies defeated Bishop Miller and escaped Bansy Harbor aboard the White Agate. Afterward, Nimrod explained that Lumian-na’s corruption was drawing powerful Hunter and Demoness items and forces toward her, while also bringing her closer to reviving her sister’s soul fragments.

  • Bishop Miller recognized Klein’s divinity, but Audrey’s Frenzy and Emlyn White’s Abyss Shackles helped Lumian-na pin him down and drive him out of control.
  • Klein used a Purification Halo against Bishop Miller, and Lumian-na’s black flames finished him and purified the zombies.
  • Nimrod told Elland to leave Bansy Harbor, and the White Agate sailed away as Elland promised to delay reporting the incident to the Church of Storms.
  • Nimrod admitted that he had altered Elland’s memories to protect their identities, then told Lumian-na they would settle in Bayam under new identities before returning to the Circle of Inevitability World.
  • Nimrod explained that Lumian-na’s slight corruption brought her closer to reviving her sister’s soul fragments, but would attract powerful pathway items and make her a potential vessel for dead gods’ revival.

Ch. 240City in the Dream

Nimrod explained that Lumian-na carried a corrupting aura tied to the Hunter and Demoness pathways and warned that its lingering will could help or consume him. In a Real Dream shaped by the City of Calamity, Lumian learned more about Nimrod’s connection to the Fool and the Celestial Worthy, while Nimrod prepared to explain the World’s absence at the Tarot Club.

  • Nimrod warned Lumian-na that the aura on her drew calamities and High Sequence Beyonders toward her, and that Alista Tudor’s lingering will could either aid her ascent or erode her identity.
  • Lumian dreamed of a mist-covered city, where Nimrod appeared and explained that the City of Calamity was covertly corrupting him through his connections to calamity and the Sefirah Castle seal.
  • Nimrod told Lumian that he and the Fool were comrades-in-arms and rivals, and identified April Fools' Day as believers in the will they were fighting.
  • Lumian recited the Celestial Worthy’s honorific name, and Nimrod explained that it pointed to him when used by people he had personally taught.
  • Klein entered Above the Gray Fog, where Nimrod joined him and agreed to explain the World’s absence at the Tarot Club meeting.

Ch. 241A Tarot Club gathering at sea

At a Tarot Club gathering, the members traded information and discussed disguise, Sanguine advancement, and the True Creator’s followers. After the White Agate reached Bayam, Nimrod released Danitz but warned him to be wary of those around him, leaving Lumian-na wondering whether he would face danger.

  • Audrey asked about items that could change her appearance, and Nimrod explained several options, including asking the Fool for a temporary Faceless gift.
  • Emlyn asked how a Sanguine could advance, and Alger offered him information about a Sanguine Baron’s legacy at a steep price.
  • Derrick told Nimrod that the City of Silver had renewed its faith in the True Creator and asked about Stif, an Angel of the Holy Word waiting outside the city; Nimrod told him to wait.
  • The White Agate arrived safely at Bayam, where Danitz described local pirates to Klein, Nimrod, and Lumian-na.
  • Nimrod let Danitz go, warned him to distrust people around him, and asked him to summon their companions; Lumian-na wondered whether Danitz would run into danger.

Ch. 242Saving Private Danitz

Nimrod foresaw that Danitz might die, and Lumian-na led the Adventure Group to rescue him from Steel Maveti and the Admiral of Blood’s crew. The group reached a dockside warehouse in Bayam and prepared to ambush Steel as Danitz entered it, unaware of the danger.

  • Nimrod foresaw Danitz’s grim fate and learned that the Admiral of Blood coveted something connected to him, so Lumian-na decided to save him.
  • Nimrod briefed the Adventure Group in Bayam, and Lumian-na invited them to hunt the pirates targeting Danitz.
  • Klein identified Steel Maveti as the one preparing to ambush Danitz, and Audrey, Sharron, and Emlyn each agreed to join for their own reasons.
  • The group headed to the docks, where Nimrod concealed them with illusions and Klein prepared his revolver.
  • Danitz entered a warehouse unguarded, and Lumian-na charged forward to begin the rescue.
