Bruce mulled over the meaning of Dusk's words again and again.
As long as he was there, fate was on their side. Did that mean fate would give them special treatment as long as he was around?
Bruce knew next to nothing about fate. Perhaps only a god who held authority over fate could understand it.
Bruce immediately thought of his Character Status Panel. This thing he had treated as his cheat might have been the work of that mysterious Wheel of Fate. Could the Wheel of Fate be a god who commanded fate?
He had already unlocked countless fates, all waiting for the day they would descend upon him.
The more Bruce thought about it, the more plausible it seemed. At first glance, the innate abilities he had gained were all different, but on closer consideration, there were patterns to them. Each seemed to have countless subtle connections to fate.
The most suspicious were Grand Trend and Breakthrough.
Grand Trend brought him into contact with events around him, letting him learn of secret incidents unknown to anyone else. Didn't that mean those events were destined to happen, only missing his involvement? Once he intervened, things would turn out differently, and his own fate would change along with them.
To some extent, Breakthrough also let him understand what was happening. Especially when his life hung in the balance, he could change his own fate.
One revealed the situation, while the other resolved the predicament. Both innate abilities undoubtedly pointed to the course of fate.
Then there were Divine Might, Swordsmanship Mastery, and Golden Experience, all abilities he had unlocked after encountering something specific. Thinking it over, each ability had come with a particular trigger. Though he might not have identified those triggers correctly, they were certainly suspicious.
