"Bang!"
With a sudden crash, Archer plunged straight into the ground, sending fallen leaves flying.
By the time the Night Watchers reached him, Archer had long since vanished. A hole lay beneath the tree.
Cruno extended his Spirituality Power into it. Once he had confirmed there was no danger inside, he jumped down as well. This was more than a hole-it was a tunnel. The Hunter had dug it well in advance so he could escape safely if discovered.
Cruno was about to follow the tunnel when a series of urgent cries rang out overhead. Something seemed to have happened outside. Sensing trouble, he hurriedly jumped back up and saw nets crisscrossing the woods, wrapping up every Night Watcher who had rushed over. Fortunately, they were trapped for only an instant before tearing through the rope nets with their short spikes.
The Hunter had laid one trap after another. Cruno gritted his teeth in fury.
Just then, the pendant in Francis's hand shone ever brighter. A chant of strange syllables drifted through the woods, and the mist among the trees grew a little thicker.
The Hunter had escaped, but the man they wanted to capture had appeared.
"Greetings, esteemed Night Watchers. It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Bradley Sharon, and I am a Living Dead. From this day forward, you will remember my name well. I shall continue to play the hymn of the Living Dead for this world."
A figure gradually approached, turning from insubstantial to solid as he entered their view.
He wore ordinary clothes and had a pale face. His steps were unsteady, his body frail, like an old man on the verge of death who might collapse at any moment.
Bradley had never shied away from revealing his identity as an Extraordinary.
