They were all veterans of intelligence work. They understood that much.

There were indeed signs of Cult of the Damned activity in the Barov Family's ancient castle on Caer Darrow. But without investigating further, the intelligence they had could not establish how many undead were operating beneath the castle.

Two skeleton soldiers guarding the entrance and the Mirror Image spell Jandice had set up were not enough to conclude that this ancient castle was the Cult of the Damned's new base. That simply wasn't realistic.

"For safety, we'll split up, each covering one direction. You have half an hour to scout. After half an hour, everyone must regroup at the entrance. Whether everyone is there or not, we retreat. Number Two was a close personal friend of Number Zero's. They were brothers who had risked their lives for each other. Number Zero was normally friendly and never put on airs as their leader, but on missions, his word was final.

Still, whenever Number Zero said something like this, Number Two knew the bastard was about to start courting death again.

"Understood, as long as you don't improvise halfway through." Number Two deliberately adopted a sarcastic tone to remind him.

Number Zero's face darkened. "Improvise my ass."

*Besides, Number Six and Number Seven are both here. If I don't get out, who knows
