The arrival of the elite Dreadlords instantly shattered the balance on the battlefield.
The energy environment created by Medivh and Loken's struggle collapsed. Two different forms of energy collided violently, and the imbalance among the released energy particles sent the resulting explosion out of control, inflicting severe backlash on both of them.
The instant the energy field destabilized, Medivh reacted swiftly, turning his spirit intangible to avoid the damage.
Though he managed to evade most of its force, the chaotic storm still grievously wounded him.
Medivh's mind crashed, his rune pathways sealed shut, and his vision turned blood-red. Agonizing pain shot through every part of his body.

The orb's barrier was incomplete, but it barely managed to save Medivh.
"What rotten luck. Being dragged here by you was worse than hiding in the Nexus and stirring up trouble with those ethereals. At least these shadow creatures couldn't assimilate my mind there, and I wouldn't have to die." Aluneth pressed Medivh into the crystal in his chest, collapsed his enormous body into a streak of light, and fled desperately toward the southern mountains.
Tichondrius waved a hand, ordering Detheroc and Varimathras to bring the
