On their way to Ichiraku Ramen, Ruri said to Momokusa Harukawa, "Harukawa, have you ever eaten at Ichiraku Ramen?"
Momokusa Harukawa shook her head. "No, I've only heard of Ichiraku Ramen. I've never actually eaten there! Is their ramen good?"
Ruri smiled. "Don't worry. Ichiraku Ramen is my favorite. Once you try it, you'll definitely want to come back for more! Honestly, their ramen is really delicious!"
"Really? Then I'll have to give it a good try! I'm sure you're right, Ruri!" Momokusa Harukawa said with a smile.
It was quite a walk from Momokusa Harukawa's home to Ichiraku Ramen. The two chatted and laughed along the way, arriving outside the shop in less than fifteen minutes.
Seeing that Ichiraku Ramen was already open, Ruri smiled at Momokusa Harukawa. "Come on, I'll take you inside for some ramen!"
Momokusa Harukawa nodded and followed Ruri into Ichiraku Ramen.
"Good morning! What would you two kids like to eat?" Teuchi greeted them warmly as soon as Ruri and Momokusa Harukawa walked in.
"I'd like a bowl of Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen, please!" Ruri said to Teuchi as he walked over to the tall stools.
"All right. And what would you like, young lady?" Teuchi nodded to Ruri, then turned to Momokusa Harukawa and asked.
Momokusa Harukawa looked at the ramen on the menu, then said shyly, "I'll have the same as him, please. Thank you! Oh, and no cilantro in mine!"
"All right, please wait a moment!" After speaking to the two of them, Teuchi began making their ramen.
"Ruri, have you eaten here before?" Momokusa Harukawa asked softly as she sat down beside him.
Ruri turned to Momokusa Harukawa with a smile. "Yes, I've eaten here once before. I ordered Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen then, too. It was delicious!"
Momokusa Harukawa smiled and nodded, then began watching Teuchi make the ramen.
Just then, Ruri asked Teuchi, "Teuchi, how come your daughter Pu Chang isn't here today?"
Teuchi smiled. "Her? She's probably still asleep at home. She hasn't gotten up yet. She's such a lazy girl!"
"Ruri, who's Pu Chang?" Momokusa Harukawa asked, looking at him.
"Pu Chang? She's Teuchi's daughter! She's a few years older than us!" Ruri told Momokusa Harukawa.
After a long wait of over ten minutes, their Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen was finally ready.
"Your Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen is ready, kids! Here, this bowl has no cilantro!" As he spoke, Teuchi set the two bowls of Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen in front of Ruri and Harukawa.
"Thank you!"
"Thank you!"
"Go ahead and eat, Harukawa! These noodles are really good!" Ruri said, handing Momokusa Harukawa a pair of chopsticks.
"Okay. Thank you, Ruri!"
With that, Harukawa picked up her chopsticks and began eating the noodles in her bowl.
"It really is delicious, Ruri! I've never had noodles this good before, and the broth is so flavorful! The chashu is fatty without being greasy, the broth is rich and savory, and the handmade noodles are wonderfully chewy!" Momokusa Harukawa said with a smile after taking a sip of broth.
"I told you it was good! Now, dig in!" With that, Ruri began eating the noodles in his own bowl.
Momokusa Harukawa also began savoring the noodles in her bowl.
