Ruri fought the enemy ninjas with powerful Shadow Clones while discovering that he had reached Kage level. Inside the upgraded Ring, he tested himself against a matching clone and left ready to learn the smoke mass’s training method.

• Ruri survived the enemies’ attack and began cutting through them as the remaining ninjas charged him together.
• Ruri used Rotation and three powerful Shadow Clones to fight the enemies, while his real body watched with Kakashi, Uzuki Yugao, Uchiha Itachi, and Yamato.
• Ruri’s Shadow Clones killed more than a dozen enemies, and the remaining fighters regained their resolve as Uchiha Itachi considered testing his limits.
• Ruri entered the upgraded Ring and learned from Ring Butler Zero that the smoke mass could assess his strength and recommend training.
• Ruri put chakra into the smoke mass, which identified him as Kage level and said he would break through completely in three days.

Ruri let his Shadow Clones wear down the enemy force, then faced the transformed survivors himself. After discovering that Ninjutsu wounds healed slowly and the Forbidden Technique was harming its users, he killed one enemy with an ice blade through the heart.

• Ring Butler Zero prescribed ankle-weight training for Ruri, who postponed missions to strengthen his legs before returning to the battlefield.
• Ruri and Uchiha Itachi watched Ruri’s Shadow Clones defeat most of the enemies, while the last clone used Eight Trigrams Palms: Heavenly Spin against six attackers.

Ruri and Kakashi defeated the enemy squad, whose fighters relied on Forbidden Techniques and banned drugs to compensate for their lack of training. After checking on the badly injured enemy Ruri had spared, the team prepared to head for the front lines.

• Ruri faced the surviving enemy, who took a Red Pill and hardened his body, but Ruri found ways to wound him with Lightning Blade and Rasengan attacks.
• Ruri used his Shadow Clone and Rasengan to disrupt the enemy’s chakra, then identified his weaknesses and defeated him by trapping his legs in ice beneath a giant Rasengan.

After sparing En, Ruri’s team rested by a stream, ate Uzuki Yugao’s meal, and prepared for the front line. Ruri planned to distract the enemy while Kakashi and the others delivered the scroll, determined that everyone would return alive.

• Ruri spared En, accepted his promise to challenge him again, and rejoined Kakashi’s team.
• Kakashi led the team to a concealed stream, where they scouted the area and rested before continuing toward the front line.
• Ruri and Uzuki Yugao prepared a feast from the remaining wild boar meat, and the team ate together to regain their strength.
• As the others cleared and packed their supplies, Ruri reflected on his past and remembered Momokusa Harukawa.
• Ruri proposed that he fight the enemy alone while Kakashi and the others delivered the scroll, then withdraw after receiving Kakashi’s signal.
