Before long, the enormous mountain before them suddenly changed. Its red and blue light flared brilliantly, drawing startled cries from many of the cultivators.
Then the entire mountain began to tremble faintly. Amid the shaking earth and quaking mountain, two narrow passages split open in the cliff face near the entrance to the canyon.
A stone tablet three or four feet tall rose before each entrance. Both tablets were identical in shape and size, but one bore the ancient characters for "Molten Rock Path," while the other read "Mystic Crystal Path."
Scorching gusts roared out of the passage marked "Molten Rock Path." Even before anyone approached, the heat left their mouths dry and their heads swimming.
Outside the Mystic Crystal Path, streams of white, icy air billowed out ceaselessly, accompanied by the howling of fierce winds. Even from far away, the chill could be felt, cutting straight to the bone.
But none of this could stop the cultivators. The moment the two passages appeared, several impatient cultivators rushed forward, quickly choosing one and stepping inside.
Seeing the passages appear, Xiao Yu rose to his feet with renewed spirits and asked Yuan Yao,
"We'll be taking the Molten Rock Path shortly. Have you made any preparations?"
The Ice-Fire Path contained restrictions that would teleport cultivators to different locations the moment they entered the canyon. Under normal circumstances, it was difficult for them to end up together, which was why Xiao Yu asked.
"I began preparing as soon as I decided to enter the Void Sky Hall. I have several magic tools for warding off cold and fire, and the fire-repelling ones are slightly better. Even without you, I would have taken the Molten Rock Path," Yuan Yao said with a nod.
"Good, as long as you're prepared. Once we enter, we
