Later, Old Tom warned him that a powerful, injured Titled Douluo had nearly captured him after recognizing him, and Lu Yuan hinted that he knew the man’s identity.

• Lu Yuan survived his fight with Zhao Wuji, who admitted defeat and confirmed that the group had passed Shrek Academy’s assessment.
• Zhao Wuji offered Lu Yuan a guest-teacher position, but Lu Yuan declined and said he would return to Heaven Dou Royal Academy with its tournament team.
• Zhao Wuji realized Lu Yuan could become an unprecedented Soul Emperor contestant at the next Continental Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament.
• Lu Yuan rented a house near Shrek, where Old Tom revealed that he had secretly escorted him and stopped an injured Titled Douluo from attacking him.
• Old Tom asked whether Lu Yuan knew the Titled Douluo behind Tang San, and Lu Yuan suggested that Old Tom already knew the man’s identity.

Lu Yuan planned to seek the Eight Spider Lances in the Star Dou Great Forest, but postponed the trip while staying in Suotuo City. Ning Rongrong came to him crying after Flender reprimanded her, and Lu Yuan began to question her about why Flender had criticized her.

• Lu Yuan told Old Tom that an External Soul Bone was near the Star Dou Great Forest and planned to search for the Eight Spider Lances after resting in Suotuo City.
• Lu Yuan decided not to pursue killing Tang San while Tang Hao was protecting him, and instead considered taking another of Tang San's arms.
• Lu Yuan bought supplies and prepared to leave for the forest with Old Tom the next day.
• Ning Rongrong visited Lu Yuan in tears and explained how Flender had scolded her for skipping her assigned laps and acting arrogantly.
• Ning Rongrong asked Lu Yuan whether she really behaved like a spoiled young lady, and he admitted that she did a little.
• Lu Yuan asked Ning Rongrong whether she had wondered why Flender dared to criticize her.

Lu Yuan helped Ning Rongrong understand why Flender had scolded her and coached her on how to fit in with the Shrek students. After she resolved to try his advice, Ning Rongrong hinted that she liked Lu Yuan, but he mistakenly thought she meant Oscar, and she left upset.

• Lu Yuan explained that Flender had Ning Fengzhi’s backing and that Ning Fengzhi had arranged for Ning Rongrong to attend Shrek Academy.
• Ning Rongrong felt discouraged about her abilities, but Lu Yuan reminded her that she could still improve and that the other students had pressures driving them to work hard.
• Lu Yuan advised Ning Rongrong to put aside her reservations and be the first to eat Oscar’s sausage during training, and she agreed to try fitting in with the group.

Lu Yuan and Old Tom encountered Tang Hao at the Star Dou Great Forest, where both sides avoided a fight after Tang Hao mistook them for potential allies. Back at the inn, Lu Yuan watched Shrek Academy clash with Canghui Academy and reunited with Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing.

• Lu Yuan and Old Tom searched for the Eight Spider Lances near the Star Dou Great Forest but found no trace of the External Soul Bone.
• Old Tom sensed a Titled Douluo near the inn, and he and Lu Yuan encountered Tang Hao outside.
• Tang Hao learned that Lu Yuan was Old Tom's grandson and treated them as possible allies, while Old Tom avoided revealing his identity by refusing to fight.

Lu Yuan and Old Tom searched the Star Dou Great Forest for the Man Faced Demon Spider when the Titan Giant Ape appeared and asked whether Lu Yuan was Xiao Wu’s friend. After learning Xiao Wu was safe, Lu Yuan asked Er Ming about her meeting with a Titled Douluo and his son, leaving Er Ming shocked and furious.

• Ning Rongrong approached Lu Yuan, and he told her he had come to the forest to look for something before sending her to bed.
• Lu Yuan and Old Tom set out to search for the Eight Spider Lances, but the forest began to shake as the Titan Giant Ape approached.
• Old Tom summoned his Martial Soul and shielded Lu Yuan while the Titan Giant Ape focused its attention on Lu Yuan.
• Er Ming asked whether Lu Yuan was Xiao Wu’s friend, and Lu Yuan confirmed that Xiao Wu had told him about Er Ming.
