Blue Star and Douluo Village

Lu Yuan originally lived on Blue Star. He died suddenly after staying up all night collecting the new season’s Shiny Pokémon in the Kingdom of Locke world, then transmigrated to the Douluo Continent as an infant. Old Tom adopted him; according to the villagers, the child’s repeated babbling of “Lu Yuan” supplied his name 1.

He recognized the setting after seeing people summon martial souls. Before his own awakening, he used knowledge from his previous world to make an explosive for hunting. His friendly manners, intelligence, and capability earned praise throughout Douluo Village and neighboring settlements 1.

Nuoding Academy

After awakening Meowmeow, Lu Yuan entered Nuoding City Junior Soul Master Academy as a work-study student. He became the students’ leader, defended them against Xiao Chenyu’s group, and defeated Xiao Chenyu inside Shining Tournament 2 4 6 7.

Yu Xiaogang repeatedly sought to make him a disciple, partly to study his external martial soul. Lu Yuan refused even when Yu Xiaogang offered protection against City Lord Xiao. The Spirit Hall Branch’s intervention subsequently gave Lu Yuan enough backing that other students stopped openly bullying the work-study students 8 9 10 11.

Lu Yuan defeated Tang San and Xiao Wu, retaining his position as the dormitory’s boss. He grew close to Xiao Wu, learned to present their bond as a sibling relationship, and urged her to conceal her soul-beast identity and return to the Star Dou Great Forest 13 14 20 21.

When Yue Guan arrived to recruit him for Spirit Hall Academy, Lu Yuan invented a story about an absent sister to obtain a year’s delay. After leaving Nuoding, he traveled toward Holy Soul Village, took Ah Yin and her right leg bone, and used them to advance before reporting to Spirit City 21 24 25.

Spirit Hall Academy

Bibi Dong took an interest in the discrepancy between Lu Yuan’s low innate soul power and rapid advancement. He became a core student with access to confidential library materials. His fabricated account of being chosen by a green-clad deity even misled the Rakshasa God into suspecting the God of Life’s involvement 26 28 80.

Placed among older students, Lu Yuan befriended Hu Liena and clashed with Yan. During the academy assessment, Hu Liena surrendered rather than continue watching him risk injury. He then faced Xie Yue in the final, recovered from a serious wound through his soul bone, and counterattacked with Star Magic 29 30 44 47 48.

Heaven Dou Undercover Mission

Qian Renxue chose Lu Yuan to accompany her to Heaven Dou City, and Bibi Dong assigned him to the mission. Before leaving, he obtained Yue Guan’s transcribed Immortal Herb Compendium 39 44.

With Qian Renxue and her two Titled Douluo protectors, Lu Yuan secured access to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. He claimed that his ancestors had discovered it first, helping provide a justification for taking the medicinal land from Dugu Bo. Its herbs enabled his exceptional third- and fourth-ring breakthroughs 51 54 57 58.

In Heaven Dou City, he presented himself as a young genius recruited by Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, concealing his actual Soul Ancestor strength behind a level-thirty-one Soul Elder display. He joined the royal academy’s reserve team and defeated its captain, Yu Tianheng, in one move during a spar 59 62 66.

The Life God King and God King of Goodness later visited him and offered him the latter’s inheritance. He accepted, receiving a first divine trial requiring him to become a Soul Emperor before fifteen 67.

Old Tom’s Return and the Dragon Valley

At twelve, Lu Yuan reunited with Old Tom in Heaven Dou City. Dugu Bo recognized the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well’s aura on him and exposed his Spirit Hall connection, forcing grandfather and grandson into a confrontation 68 70.

The pair recovered the Golden Hawksbill Turtle Torso Soul Bone but were pursued by the Seven Great Families. Their confrontation revealed Old Tom’s earlier history with the bone, including the death of one companion and the crippling of another 74.

Lu Yuan subsequently entered the depths beneath the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well with the God King of Goodness’s help. After encountering the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings’ spirits, he obtained soul pearls that he gave to Old Tom and Snake Lance Douluo. Return to Spirit City and Suotuo City

Returning to Spirit Hall Academy after more than three years, Lu Yuan challenged the Golden Generation together. He defeated Hu Liena and Xie Yue’s Demon Charm fusion with a wide-ranging Sieve-Tube Surge, then invited them to Old Tom’s Titled Ceremony 85 89.

Later, while seeking the Imperial Fighting Team’s route through the soul fighting arenas, he intervened against Zhu Zhuyun’s pursuit of Zhu Zhuqing. He used the encounter to test martial soul possession and consolidate his rapidly acquired strength 92 93.

Lu Yuan accompanied Zhu Zhuqing to Suotuo City, used his official credentials to establish his cover identity, and recognized Flender’s shop and a stone containing Dragon Whisker Needle material. He also encountered Tang San again and calmly challenged Dai Mubai’s hostile questioning about his relationship with Zhu Zhuqing 96 97 98.

Lu Yuan is sociable toward people he accepts and fiercely protective of them. He improves the work-study students’ position, reassures Xiao Wu about her safety, and gives Old Tom a powerful opportunity rather than keeping it for himself 11 20 83.

He is also calculating and comfortable with deception. He fabricates explanations for his foreknowledge, conceals his cultivation, and uses emotional acting to negotiate with Yue Guan. His concern for Xiao Wu coexists with the strategic aim of depriving Tang San of an important ally 18 20 21.

His pride can make him blunt and provocative: he mocks Yu Xiaogang’s qualifications, taunts Yan’s jealousy, and tells Xie Yue that the entire Golden Generation must face him together. Nevertheless, he recognizes serious threats and conceals his strengths when exposure would be dangerous 8 12 30 85.
