The Martial Practice Field on Divine Wind Island blazed with light. Dozens of large tables stood in a row, laden with dishes of every kind and fine wine. The disciples traded toasts and chatted merrily, filling the air with festive excitement.
Chen Ming sat at the head of the gathering, wine cup in hand, smiling at the lively scene before him. He knew that the success of their expedition to the Star Abyss Secret Realm meant more than a bounty of resources. More importantly, it had given the entire island an enormous boost in morale.
Wan Yao'er sat beside him, sipping her wine slowly, her expression serene.
After three rounds of drinks, Chen Ming rose and pressed his hands downward, signaling for silence. The clamor across the Martial Practice Field gradually subsided, and everyone's eyes turned toward him.
"Everyone," Chen Ming announced clearly, "we reaped a rich harvest from this expedition to the Star Abyss Secret Realm. I've already had the Chiefs of the Various Departments tally the exact quantities. I'll report them to you now."
He drew a list from his robes and read, "We obtained three hundred and forty-seven medicinal herbs of various kinds, including more than two hundred and ten over a century old and seven over a thousand years old; more than twenty-eight thousand High-Grade Spirit Stones, over sixty thousand Middle-Grade Spirit Stones, and countless Low-Grade Spirit Stones; over fifty types of artifact refining materials and ores, weighing roughly three thousand jin in total; and a number of pills, magical artifacts, and cultivation-method jade slips. All supplies will be entered into storage under the contribution points system, and rewards will be distributed according to merit."
Applause and cheers erupted across the Martial Practice Field as he finished.
Chen Ming made no mention of the cultivation inheritance.
