Over the next few days, Qingyu stopped taking Sylveon around Kitakami's tourist attractions.
Ever since meeting the Ursaluna called Bloodmoon in the Timeless Woods, Sylveon had devoted herself to training in seclusion.
Her goal was simple-use what she had learned from Sketching Bloodmoon to try to master its terrifying signature move, Blood Moon.
Come to think of it, Sylveon seemed to have a natural affinity for the moon.
Qingyu had even wondered whether she was originally supposed to evolve into Umbreon, only to change her mind at the last second and become Sylveon instead...
For instance, she had learned the healing move Moonlight on her own after evolving, and had easily grasped the principles behind Blood Moon through Sketch.
None of that seemed like something a Sylveon should be capable of.
But another problem still stood in her way.
Though she was the moon's darling and could absorb its energy whenever she wanted, Sylveon wasn't particularly skilled at putting that power to use.
Qingyu chose a compromise-
Since she couldn't use Blood Moon yet, she could start by learning its toned-down counterpart, Moonblast!
In the game, Bloodmoon had also learned Moonblast first, only mastering Blood Moon after leveling up further.
With that new approach, Sylveon finally made progress.
Before long, it was Monday, December 29.
That evening, just as she had for the past few days, Sylveon began practicing her moves under the moonlight with Qingyu by her side.
Sylveon had an incredible talent for using moon energy. In just one day, she had learned Moonblast, one of the most practical Fairy-type special attack moves.
However, Blood Moon clearly had its own unique way of harnessing energy.
"Sylveon, let's hold off on practicing this time. Let's think back together on how Ursaluna used that move."
"Vee."
Sylveon nodded and
