January 24, Saturday.
On this rare day off, Qingyu hadn't stayed at the Sunshine Gym to enjoy some leisure time.
As a Gym Leader, his daily duties included not only assessing the students of Naranja Academy, but also keeping the surrounding area safe and stable.
Since the Paldea League's organizational system was highly efficient, there generally weren't any major problems.
Occasionally, though, wild Pokémon wandered into Area Zero and acquired Terastallization, and they needed to be dealt with regularly.
Even with Area Zero's main entrance closed, that only blocked the route used by humans. Most Pokémon had all sorts of ways to scale cliffs, fly through the air, or burrow underground, allowing them to enter Area Zero easily and absorb its energy.
The wild Pokémon from outside were no match at all for the ferocious Pokémon in Area Zero, so they would quickly leave once they had gathered enough Terastal energy.
These Pokémon were far stronger than others of their species, making them difficult for ordinary Trainers to handle, while leaving them alone would affect the ecosystem.
The League didn't have the personnel to spare for dealing with them, either, so this cleanup work was entrusted to the Gym Leaders of each area.
The method was simple-
Defeat a Pokémon that had acquired Terastallization once, then break or collect all the Tera Shards attached to its body, and the problem would be resolved for the time being.
Pokémon couldn't generate Terastal armor themselves. They had to rely on these energy crystals created by Terapagos to briefly gain the power of Terastallization.
In fact, these were the Tera Raid dens from the game.
It was just that, in the not-so-distant future, a certain "helpful student" would take care of these tasks instead.
Of course, right now, Qingyu didn't actually need to
