After his brief training, the professional mercenaries at the Sunshine Gym quickly grew familiar with their battle styles, leaving him with almost nothing more to say.
In truth, the "AFK strategy" Qingyu demonstrated was itself an important reflection of a Trainer's skill.
In actual combat, relying solely on a Trainer's commands sometimes inevitably left a Pokémon a step behind. Being able to follow its Trainer's thinking and make judgments in advance was therefore another ability that needed special attention as they learned to work together.
Of course, that ability also depended on the Trainer's command skills and prebattle planning. It was a luxury built through enormous investments of time and effort.
It was hardly difficult for Qingyu, but it was still a little too early for the other rookies.
When they had faced Qingyu before, at least his opening tactics had been fairly fixed, allowing them to gain some advantage by anticipating his commands.
But once these Pokémon fought independently and stopped following the usual patterns, many rookies were dumbfounded...
