After returning to the Sunshine Gym, Qingyu and his Pokémon (except Miraidon) immediately gathered around to examine the newly evolved Shelgon.

At Qingyu's request, Lucario closed his eyes and carefully sensed the aura energy within Shelgon.
Aura was an incredibly mysterious form of energy in the Pokémon world. Supposedly, aura existed within everything, but only a tiny number of humans and Pokémon could sense it.
Qingyu certainly had no talent in that department.
Still, the Sunshine Gym was full of hidden talents-quite literally a tiger and a dragon, in Incineroar and Kingdra's case-so there was no shortage of capable help.
Sensing aura was practically instinctive for Lucario. Since he was also the only member of the team who had used a Mega Stone's power, Qingyu had asked him to investigate where the Mega Stone had gone after Shelgon evolved.
Actually, even without Lucario's help, Qingyu was already about ninety percent certain of the answer.
After all, they had searched all of Casseroya Lake. There was practically only one possible explanation left.
Still, it was better to check, just to be safe.

Lucario suddenly opened his eyes, staring in astonishment at Shelgon, who looked utterly bewildered and still had no idea what was going on. Then Lucario quickly turned to Qingyu and nodded firmly.

With his suspicions confirmed, Qingyu sighed, his expression complicated, and turned toward Shelgon, whose eyes were the only things visible beyond his white shell.
