While it was still dinnertime in Paldea, night had already fallen deep over the Sinnoh Region.
Inside the Sinnoh League, an impassioned voice soon broke the silence.
"Come on, come on! Clock out, now! Teacher Yu's stream is about to start!"
The impatient tone made the speaker easy to identify: Flint, Sinnoh's Fire-type Elite Four member and a specialist in Sunny Day Teams.
At his words, the two men sitting beside him quickly stopped working and glanced at the time in the bottom-right corner of their computer screens.
It was one thirty in the morning. Many people were probably already asleep, but for the Sinnoh League's Elite Four, the nightlife was only just beginning.
"You haven't been watching the clock this whole time, have you...?"
Sitting between them, Aaron pressed a hand to his forehead in exasperation. His hands were no slower, though. Almost in perfect sync with Flint, he tucked his documents and reports into a drawer, leaving his desk neat again.
"Of course I have! If that's when we finish work, I'm not staying a second longer!"
Flint chuckled heartily, then looked at Lucian.
"..."
Lucian said nothing, merely doing the same as the others in silence.
At the same time, he thought:
You're one to talk, Aaron. I've watched you flip that single thin sheet of paper back and forth dozens of times...
Though he wanted to retort immediately, today was an exception, so he could hardly say much.
After all, they hadn't actually needed to come to the League to work overtime on a Sunday.
Even with all the work at the Sinnoh League, and with Champion Cynthia and their elderly fellow Elite Four member Bertha unable to help shoulder it, the three of them weren't so busy that they needed to work around the clock.
