The third and final Pokémon Ash sent out was his Buizel.
This Buizel was the one Ash had traded his Aipom to Dawn for not long ago. Although Xia You had not spent much time with it, he knew its strength was decent, though its performance so far had not been particularly impressive.
Presumably, Ash had sent it out now both to give it some training and to take advantage of the battlefield, just as Crasher Wake had.
As he thought this, the battle officially began.
Dawn and the others had originally thought this would be an evenly matched battle. After all, both sides were Water-type Pokémon, so deciding a winner did not seem like it would be easy.
Yet, to their surprise, after only the initial probing exchanges, the battle swung straight in Ash's favor!
At one point during their clash, Quagsire used Ice Beam again.
Honestly, using an Ice-type move against a Water-type Pokémon was not a good idea, but for some unknown reason, Crasher Wake did it anyway.
And the consequences were undoubtedly devastating.
Faced with the incoming Ice Beam, Ash neither dodged nor evaded. Instead, he had Buizel use Aqua Jet straight into that frigid energy.
The next second, a great torrent of water gushed from beneath Buizel's feet, wrapping around its entire body as it shot toward Quagsire like an enormous cannonball!
In midair, the instant Ice Beam collided with Aqua Jet, the water surrounding Buizel froze solid. Yet Buizel lost none of its momentum, its entire body encased in thick ice as it flew straight toward Quagsire!
Crasher Wake had clearly never encountered a Pokémon Trainer who fought so recklessly before.
He was taken aback. In that split second, he had no time to react and could only watch as the "giant ice block"
