Their drinks and snacks soon arrived.
Dawn's strawberry milkshake was piled with whipped cream and colorful sprinkles. She eagerly scooped up a large spoonful and put it in her mouth, her eyes immediately curving into crescents.
It clearly tasted wonderful.
Makomo cradled her warm milk, drinking it in small sips.
She looked exactly as she did when she usually held a beaker. From getting to know her and observing her over this time, Xia You had noticed that she hardly ever drank anything else sweet, but always drank milk instead.
Was it to get more calcium?
Or did she want some part of her to get bigger?
Xia You gently swirled his glass of water, with two thin lemon slices floating on the surface and ice cubes softly clinking in the liquid. He took a small sip-ooh, that was a little sour.
Cogita also took a sip of coffee and recounted what she had seen and heard lately.
Her way of traveling was completely different from Xia You's.
Xia You went from one city to another with clear goals-Gyms, badges, and conferences.
His route was a straight line, a fixed one. At most, he took an occasional detour, but he never strayed from his overall direction.
Cogita, however, was different.
She had no destination, no timetable, and nothing she absolutely had to do.
She could stay in a small town for three days simply because she liked its sunrise, or take a long detour to see a forest where rare Pokémon were said to appear, even if she ended up seeing nothing. She could also stand at an utterly unremarkable roadside stall for half an hour just to wait for a batch of freshly baked bread.
Precisely because of this, she could see many things that Xia You could not.
