At One Island's harbor stood the same little tavern as before.
At the bar where they had sat before, Xia You and Sabrina had local specialties before them, eating slowly and chatting quietly from time to time. With a bang, someone shoved the tavern door open. The next moment, under the owner's puzzled gaze, a furious Lorelei strode inside, walked straight up beside Xia You, slapped the counter, and sat down heavily.
The scene inevitably reminded Xia You of when they had first arrived on One Island, but their states of mind were already entirely different now!
"Miss Lorelei, why did you get back so late?" Xia You looked at her with a smile, picked up a half-full glass of ice water from beside him, and handed it over. "You must have been roasted in this heat, right? Here, have some ice water and cool down!"
Lorelei snatched the glass and poured it into her mouth. But after just one sip, she detected the taste of grease from food! Only then did she realize that this was a glass Xia You had used, and she spat the water straight back out!
"Are you messing with me?!" Lorelei glared at him, wishing she could tear Xia You in two!
"Ah, sorry, I grabbed the wrong one by mistake." Xia You hurriedly picked up another glass of ice water from the table and handed it over again. "Don't get so worked up. By the way, how are things at Mt. Ember now?"
Since Mt. Ember was extremely far from town, with a river between them, the volcanic eruption earlier had not actually caused much panic among the island's residents.
Only a thin haze of volcanic ash had cast a gloomy pall over the town.
"I already contacted the police," Lorelei said indignantly.
