Just as the Pokédex explained, perhaps because his steel body was too heavy, Scizor had essentially lost the ability to fly after evolving. The pair of wings on his back could not support his weight at all; at most, they could briefly let him glide and cushion his fall when he dropped from somewhere high.
In exchange, however, becoming a Steel-type Pokémon had greatly improved his ability to withstand blows, making him like a humanoid mech.
Xia You could not help patting Scizor's chest. It rang with a series of thuds, the vibrations making his palm ache slightly. It really felt no different from hitting steel.
"Not bad!"
Smiling, Xia You circled Scizor several times, clicking his tongue in wonder. Scizor was clearly very satisfied with his new body as well. He raised his pair of massive pincers and examined them. The only thing he had not quite adjusted to was having pincers in place of his blade-like claws.
