Thus, for the first battle, Xia You followed his principle of playing it safe and steady and sent out his most trusted Pokémon.
Just like Xia You, Ash had spent all of yesterday carefully studying Xia You's lineup with Brock. He also knew that most of Xia You's Pokémon were incredibly strong, especially Gengar and Red Gyarados, whose strength could even be described as terrifying. Naturally, he dared not let his guard down.
Seeing Gardevoir take the field, Ash drew a deep breath and took out a Poké Ball as well, following the strategy he and Brock had devised yesterday.
