Honestly, it was a terrible choice.
Scizor was a Bug/Steel-type Pokémon, and as everyone knew, Fire-type Pokémon dealt quadruple damage against Pokémon with that combination of types!
One blast of fire would leave it badly battered, even if it survived!
Even Ash, for all his battles against unfavorable type matchups, would rarely send out a Pokémon with a quadruple weakness to its opponent!
Seeing Xia You send out such a Pokémon, Flannery frowned, hesitating to speak.
She did not understand why Xia You would choose a Pokémon like that.
She wanted to ask whether he was confused or simply overconfident, but when she looked up and met his calm eyes, she knew he had probably done it deliberately.
Either he had tremendous confidence in this Pokémon, or he had something else in mind!
Given Tyranitar's and Dragonite's performances, Flannery was more inclined to believe the former.

How should she put it? This Scizor was certainly strong. Its attack power and mobility were clearly excellent, especially against a slow opponent like Camerupt. It darted and dodged, finding plenty of openings, and used Double Team and Agility to evade many of Camerupt's attacks. It really had done its best.
But the type disadvantage was something it simply could not overcome.
