Leaping off Charizard, Xia You landed on the ground, walked over to the Great Ball, and picked it up from the puddle.
Who could have imagined that this Great Ball now held a Pokémon that was exceptionally powerful even among Legendary Pokémon, one that had even fought Rayquaza to a standstill for a time!
Splashing footsteps sounded beside him. Turning his head, he saw Misty running toward him, panting.
"Xia You, you're amazing! You really caught Deoxys!"
As she spoke, perhaps overcome with excitement, she threw herself onto Xia You, wrapped her arms around his neck, and hung her entire weight on him!
From her excited voice and movements, Xia You felt as though he could sense her joy.
That was the benefit of having a companion who genuinely cared about you. With most people, it was good enough if they weren't jealous. How many would feel genuinely happy for you just because you had caught a Pokémon?
"All right, come down. I haven't even shown much of a reaction, so how did you get this excited?"
Xia You affectionately set Misty down, mainly because she was already blossoming into a young woman. She was developing very nicely, full where she should be full and slim where she should be slim. He didn't dare hold her for long, afraid his body would react.
Back on the ground, Misty wore a broad smile.
"Of course I'm excited! I had a part in this too, you know!"
Although their hug had ended quickly, she had keenly noticed a particular change in certain parts of Xia You's body. Once she realized what it was, she was terribly embarrassed, but she felt no disgust at all. Instead, delight welled up inside her.
