"It's over." Shelly let out a long sigh and leaned against the railing too, gazing at the white clouds on the horizon, seemingly filled with countless reflections. "Thanks to you, we're both in the clear now. Our affiliations have been separated from Team Magma and Team Aqua, and we've been reclassified as your operatives. We've completely cut ties with them."
He looked at Courtney beside her, and Courtney nodded too, indicating that her case had been handled the same way as Shelly's.
"Did Anabel mention what would happen to Maxie and Archie?"
Shelly shrugged. "What else could happen? They'll definitely be sent back to the mainland to stand trial. I reckon those two will probably spend the rest of their lives locked up with the serious offenders."
Xia You wasn't surprised by that outcome. After all, this world had no death penalty. Life imprisonment, confined to a tiny room for the rest of their lives until they died old, lonely, and miserable, was already the harshest punishment they could receive.
"That's good, then. Do you two have any plans for what comes next?"
Shelly gave him a half-smile. "What plans could we have? Didn't that woman just ask you to supervise us? We're under observation now. What could we possibly do? Looks like we're firmly tied to your side, both officially and privately."
"No one's restricting your freedom." Xia You shook his head at that. "The supervision is just a formality. Besides, I still have my journey to continue. I can't keep you with me all the time. I'm sure Anabel knows that, but she still made me your supervisor. That probably means she feels the same way."
After thinking it over, however, he added, "How about this? Like I told you before, both of you should go to Kanto.
