The next morning, Xin Mu took the hotel shuttle to the scenic area.
Most larger chain hotels had arrangements with local scenic areas, offering free shuttle services if guests booked in advance.
But when Xin Mu arrived, he discovered that this place had a franchise tie-in, too.
At the entrance stood a statue of a very plump Pangoro.
Yes, plump, not muscular.
Unlike the well-developed muscles of an ordinary Pangoro, this Pangoro was covered in fat, and even his eyes looked much more innocent.
He also wore a conical bamboo hat and held a walking stick made of green bamboo.
"The Dragon Warrior... Kung Fu Panda?!"
Although this world consisted of various different regions, it also had an organization called Hollywood, which had produced plenty of distinctive Pokémon crossover franchises.
Besides Pangoro as the Dragon Warrior, there were the Furious Five, made up of Incineroar, Serperior, Bombirdier, Scyther, and Simipour, as well as Carracosta playing Master Oogway...
Thanks to the unique nature of Pokémon, many characters required no special effects at all and were played by professional Pokémon actors instead.
Xin Mu had thought this was purely a scenic area. He had never expected a theme park to have been built at the foot of the mountain.
Although the attractions were just ordinary amusement park rides with a franchise slapped on them, the old monk last night had given him an all-inclusive ticket. Xin Mu had arrived early, too, so there were no lines for any of the rides. He decided to enjoy a round of them first.
Meownei, however, had no interest whatsoever in thrill rides. As a Pokémon accustomed to combat, dodging moves like Flamethrower and Hyper Beam with her speed was already an everyday occurrence.
That little bit of speed and weightlessness held nothing novel for Meownei.
