Zhang Xiaohu was tortured and falsely accused of causing the beast tide until Xia Zihe exposed Zhao Jian’s betrayal and the Cult Master’s envoy intervened. Zhang Xiaohua arrived at Shixin Peak and, after the inquiry, began treating his gravely wounded brother.

• Zhao Jian persuaded Zhong Pei to seize Zhang Xiaohu, Changge, and Chen Chen, and Zhang Xiaohu endured torture without revealing what he knew.
• Zhao Jian destroyed Zhang Xiaohu’s inner force, while Zhang Xiaohua left Tianmu Peak for Shixin Peak under the name Ren Xiaoyao.
• Ren Xiaoyao defeated Liu Qiaogang, joined Chen Chen’s party, and reached Misty Hall as Zhang Xiaohu faced accusations of instigating the beast tide.
• Wen Wenhai defended Zhang Xiaohu, and the Cult Master’s envoy dismissed Zhong Pei’s claims and ordered him to plead guilty.
• Xia Zihe testified that Zhao Jian had abandoned their companions to the blood wolves and tried to kill her, and the Cult ordered Zhao Jian executed by lingchi.
• The Cult Master rewarded Zhang Xiaohu with the Su Huan Heart Sutra and pills, and Zhang Xiaohua decided against attacking Zhong Pei to avoid implicating others.
• Zhang Xiaohua visited Zhang Xiaohu, found his meridians undamaged but his body covered in whip wounds, and prepared to treat him with herbs.

Zhang Xiaohua saved Ou Yan and secretly healed injured Misty Sect disciples, while Zhang Xiaohu used the restorations to build support within the Misty Sect. Zhang Xiaohu became chief senior disciple, and Zhang Xiaohua continued treating Wen Wenhai, Lu Yueming, and Xue Qing.

• Zhang Xiaohua and Zhang Xiaohu passed off bathwater containing Heavenly Bell Stone Milk as a Whitening Elixir, and Zhang Xiaohu shared it with Xiao Tiantian and Junior Sister Yi before Changge distributed the rest.
• A cloaked figure failed to free Ou Yan’s sealed acupoints, and Zhang Xiaohua found that her vitality was draining faster while the Spirit-Awakening Pill was still being refined.
• Zhang Xiaohu visited Misty Manor and convinced Li Jian to let Zhang Xiaohua secretly treat Zhou Mufeng and Shi Niu, restoring Zhou Mufeng’s dantian and beginning to heal Shi Niu’s crushed joints.
• Zhang Xiaohua saved Du Feng from Qi Deviation with a Meridian Nourishing Pill, then refined twenty-seven Spirit-Awakening Pills and used one to stop Ou Yan’s decline.
• Zhang Xiaohu became Misty Hall’s chief senior disciple, and he and Zhang Xiaohua agreed to secretly restore Wen Wenhai, Lu Yueming, and Xue Qing.

Zhang Xiaohua cured Ou Yan, helped Zhang Xiaohu aid the Misty Sect, and prepared to leave for Yi Xiang Peak after Zhang Xiaohu accepted the Cult Master's edict. The arc ended with Zhang Xiaohua searching Qiankun Hall's Treasure Pavilion for a weapon and taking discarded objects from the Heaven Pavilion.

• Zhang Xiaohua gained a faint insight into the Way of Cause and Effect, then tested Ding Chao's loyalty and let him and Junior Sister Yi go.
• Zhang Xiaohua treated Ou Yan by drawing black insects from her Niwan Palace, and Xiaohuang swallowed them.
• Zhang Xiaohua helped Zhang Xiaohu treat injured Misty Sect disciples, while Zhang Xiaohu accepted Li Jian's support to become chief senior disciple.
• Zhang Xiaohua arranged pills for Misty Hall as Du Feng told him about the Martial Arts Tournament, but a signal flare summoned both brothers to Misty Hall.
• Envoy Mu announced that Zhang Xiaohu had been appointed Elder Jingxuan's registered disciple and that Zhang Xiaohua had become an Inner Sect alchemy apprentice disciple, and both accepted their tokens.
• Zhang Xiaohu consulted Wen Wenhai and Li Jian, accepted their advice, and decided to keep the registered-disciple status without abandoning his Misty Sect identity.
• Zhang Xiaohua said farewell, gave Zhang Xiaohu pills for Misty Manor, and left for Yi Xiang Peak after reminding him to conceal his recovered cultivation.
• At Qiankun Hall, Zhang Xiaohua searched the Treasure Pavilion for a weapon with Primordial Qi fluctuations, found none, and took a strange plaque and other discarded objects from the Heaven Pavilion.
