Kha was the sector’s only pre-nuclear civilization when the sector plan was established. It later became the capital planet of the Terran Federation and the Protoss’ principal affiliated human civilization 44.

The Koprulu Sector was established during the Protoss’ early period of expansion. Shen Jun selected the region around Aiur as a defensible core territory while maintaining a wider Protoss sphere of influence extending across 10,000 light-years and containing 27 affiliated civilizations 44.

The Protoss initially offered protection rather than substantial technology transfers, reinforcing their control by constructing Time-Space Navigation Routes in the home systems of affiliated civilizations. Within the sector, Shen Jun began cultivating seven developing civilizations. The Protoss intended to guide all seven into the space age and eventually form a Terran Federation, although the process was gradual; Sien, the most backward civilization, was expected to require roughly half a century merely to reach the pre-nuclear era 44.

The sector expanded rapidly as the four major Protoss armies pushed outward. Dozens of additional civilizations became affiliated with the Protoss, while the Purifier fleets grew into the largest component of the Golden Armada 53. Expansion and the Lieyang War

The sector becomes the foundation for Protoss expansion and the construction of the Golden Armada. Its conflict with Lieyang establishes the Protoss as the dominant known-universe power and leads to Lieyang’s affiliation with the Protoss 63 66 70.

Deno War and the Zerg Threat

The sector’s expansion produces the Terran Federation, which becomes involved in the Deno War and later supports Protoss operations against the Zerg Swarm 83 86 98. The destruction of the Deno Star System prompts Shen Jun to convene a Theocratic Conference concerning the Known Universe’s future and the Zerg threat 115.

Koprulu War

The sector becomes Amon’s most heavily concentrated front, facing tens of millions of Hybrids and billions of Zerg troops. Shen Jun divides the Golden Armada into multiple expeditionary fleets to defend the sector and other regions simultaneously 170.

Protoss victories at separate battlefields allow Tassadar, Selandis, and Kaldir to concentrate their forces against the remaining Zerg army. After months of fighting, the Zerg forces within the Koprulu Sector are eliminated, although battles continue elsewhere in the Known Universe 190 194 206.
