A few days earlier, Byron had been busy remodeling the Gymnasium because he had no suitable challengers, but apparently he had caused a huge uproar by blacking out the entire city.
In fact, Jasmine had been in Sunyshore City at the time, but Kaim had no way of knowing that.
"It's been a while. Shall we try the elevator?"
"Can we?! I absolutely want to ride it!"
When he said this to the somewhat restless Maken, her eyes sparkled at Kaim's words. Maken had a dignified air that seemed beyond a young girl, but Kaim thought of her as a girl his own age.
And so Kaim took Jasmine into the elevator and asked a Gym Trainer to raise it. The elevator rose slowly, carrying them upstairs.
"Wow, that's amazing!"
"These movements were designed with safety in mind. Apart from the Gym Trainers, challengers are amateurs when it comes to this sort of thing."
"When did you switch to this setup?"
"I'm not quite sure, but apparently it was renovated a few years ago. Of course, we never neglect the regular maintenance."
Despite the complexity of the gimmicks, safety also had to be taken into account. As such, maintenance and inspections were extremely thorough, and Kaim had continued that practice even after taking over.
"We also check with outside contractors. Perhaps that's why, despite using such elaborate gimmicks, we've had zero injuries or accidents so far."
"That's wonderful. They're inspecting everything thoroughly."
"With equipment like this, we couldn't keep operating if we didn't."
As they talked, the two reached the floor above.
Like the second basement level, the first basement level had training rooms and battlefields.
It did not look very different, but at the back, besides the recovery equipment, there was another room.
"What about that room?"
