As its name suggested, Kitakami lay even farther north than Paldea, which was already in the Northern Hemisphere.
Its high latitude meant short days and long nights, especially during the winter months of January and February.
Nighttime temperatures could drop to well below freezing, into the negative teens Celsius. It really wasn't weather for going out.
