We left Viridian City in search of a Gym where we could earn our final Badge, and eventually arrived in Lavender Town.
Mist hung over Lavender Town, giving it a gloomy atmosphere that drew many wild Ghost-type Pokémon, especially to Pokémon Tower.
Lavender Town had no Pokémon Gym, so we planned to take a short break before continuing our journey. We picked a restaurant in town and went in for a meal.
"Hello, my name is Fuji. What would you four like to order?" The restaurant owner was a kindly-looking old man.
During the meal, we chatted with Mr. Fuji and discovered that he knew Professor Oak.
"Really? To think Oak would join an evil organization..." Mr. Fuji sighed in disappointment.
"So what do you plan to do now?" Mr. Fuji asked.
"We're going to challenge the last Gym on our journey through Kanto, collect our eighth Badge, and then challenge the Indigo League. We're also working on getting stronger so we can defeat the Shuttle Corps," I explained.
"I see. Then why not visit this town's Pokémon Tower?"
"Pokémon Tower? I visited it ten years ago and became good friends with a Haunter there."
"No, no. We've built another Pokémon Tower at the easternmost end of town. Actually, I recently left something important inside, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere."
"Then we'll visit it and find your missing item while we're there."
"Thank you! It's a flute. I lost it on the top floor."
