Two years passed before anyone knew it.
A boy climbed out of bed.
"Puni, give me a hand," the boy called into the empty room.
A moment later, a luminous figure emerged from the boy's divine body.
The light slowly faded beside him, finally revealing its form.
Six elongated, shield-like shapes circled its body. Its body resembled a sharp bamboo pole hovering above the ground, and four pairs of antennae grew from its head. The uppermost pair intertwined upward like a plant. This creature was Puni, whom he had drawn out of an egg two years ago, and the boy beside Puni was Ash, who had slept for two years.
"Careful. Your muscles haven't recovered yet." Puni supported Ash with one of the shields circling its body.
"I just want to see Dad," Ash said with a pout.
"How old are you now?" Puni remarked beside him.
"I can't help it. Ever since I merged with this body, his personality has become part of mine." Ash sighed helplessly at Puni's words.
The two chatted as they walked. During the years Ash had spent asleep, Puni had been his only friend. He hadn't been able to open the system at all while sleeping.
A long while later...
"Young master, you're finally awake!" A black-haired young man ran over.
"Huh? Ice Attendant, what are you doing here?" Ash asked the black-haired man.
"It's Thunder Attendant. He's gone off to train again lately," Ice Attendant said as he supported Ash.
"Oh, that explains it. Take me to see Dad." Ash nodded.
"Yes. Young master, is the Pokémon beside you Puni?" Ice Attendant asked, pointing at Puni.
"Yeah. Puni, say hello," Ash told Puni.
"Hello," Puni greeted him simply.
"Hello. I'm a guard of Red Leaf City. My name is Ice Attendant," Ice Attendant
