"According to an ancient myth, Primal Groudon, which created the land, and Primal Kyogre, which created the oceans, fought endlessly in the Ancient World in pursuit of some immense source of energy. Their battle shook heaven and earth, bringing the world to the brink of destruction. The immense energy they fought over might have been that Giant Rock," Steven answered.

"That's right. This is serious. If the energy detected in Rustboro City is a sign that the legendary Giant Rock is about to appear..."

Hearing this, Steven used the panel on the Central Control Console to examine the two legendary Pokémon's routes. "Predict the courses of Groudon on the sea and Kyogre in the depths." The blue and red lines on the screen converged at the same point.

"Just like the myth?"

"If that's the case... the world will be destroyed. We have to get there right away!"

As the signs of the legendary Giant Rock's appearance grew clearer, the energy fluctuations there became stronger. Thousands of miles away, Groudon and Kyogre suddenly shuddered and looked toward Rustboro City, the longing in their eyes intensifying. Their speed surged as they raced frantically toward the waters off Rustboro City.

Kyogre and Groudon were not the only ones to sense the Giant Rock's energy. Mewtwo, who had been sleeping inside a Poké Ball, suddenly opened his eyes and used his own power to emerge from the ball.

"Wake up!" Mewtwo roused Xiao Yan, who had been sleeping like the dead. Xiao Yan opened his bleary eyes, looking utterly bewildered.

"Mewtwo, why did you come out?" Drool still clung to the corner of Xiao Yan's mouth. A second later, his body suddenly felt weightless. Only when he looked down at himself did he realize he was floating in midair.

"Come with me."
