In the world of Pokémon, terrain had a major impact on a Pokémon's strength. The simplest example was Goldeen: a Goldeen in the water and one on land were on completely different levels. Although most Pokémon were not such extreme cases, terrain still mattered enormously.
As Chu Xin watched the battlefield freeze over, the pressure he felt facing Han Yaru grew heavier.
Chu Xin regarded Han Yaru gravely. This opponent was even more formidable than he had imagined. From the start until now, she had not made a single mistake in commanding Lapras. From that opening Ice Beam to the current Icy Wind, everything had been aimed at creating this artificial Frozen Terrain to bolster Lapras's strength.
Xiao Wu was already suffering from the Frozen Terrain, shivering all over on the battlefield.
"Xiao Wu, can you keep fighting?"
(Of course.)
This was the first time Xiao Wu had taken a battle so seriously. It seemed Xiao Wu was very interested in the opposing Lapras, too.
"Are you ready? The real battle starts now! Lapras, Ice Skating!"
With Frozen Terrain complete, a thin sheet of ice covered the entire battlefield. Pokémon like Lapras were not just excellent swimmers; they were also highly skilled at skating.
Lapras moved all four flippers. Normally rather clumsy on land, Lapras now displayed surprising agility, skating toward Xiao Wu at tremendous speed.
Xiao Wu stared in shock at the charging Lapras. How was this one so fast?
"Xiao Wu, dodge, quick!"
Chu Xin hurriedly gave the command. Snapping out of that daze, Xiao Wu began trying to evade Lapras's attack. Yet, unexpectedly, despite trying to dodge, Xiao Wu remained rooted to the spot and took the full force of Lapras's charge.
"Wu!" (That hurt!)
*What happened? Xiao Wu had clearly started dodging, so why did that
