As expected, Chu Xin won his first match easily. Kaka's Trial Device did not even lower its difficulty.
After the battle, Chu Xin scratched his head. It seemed the Kendo Championship was much easier than he had imagined, though its rules surprised him a little.
The Kendo Championship only allowed swordsmanship in combat. Of course, that covered a very broad range of techniques, so Kaka had no trouble adapting to the rules. Still, there were exceptions: in an earlier battle, a contestant had been disqualified for attacking with Energy Ball.
Looking back at the disqualified contestant, Chu Xin sighed with some regret. Still, that contestant had put him on his guard. He absolutely could not let Kaka use anything other than swordsmanship during the matches. Moves like Energy Ball and Hyper Beam were off-limits.
Fortunately, the competition did not restrict self-enhancing buff skills like Burst Aura. Otherwise, Kaka's strength would have dropped a whole tier.
After his first match, Chu Xin fought three more in succession. With those four matches finished, the Kendo Championship's qualifiers were over, and all the remaining contestants had made the Top 16.
Only those who had made the Top 16 would go on to compete officially in the arena.
But the qualifiers alone had taken the entire afternoon. The sun had already set, and a slight chill had settled over the summit of Wudang Mountain. There probably was not enough time to begin the official matches.
Chu Xin saw that Taoist Xiao Lu, dressed as a staff member, had already left the venue. Just as he had expected, the Top 16 matches would apparently take place tomorrow.
Sure enough, the staff appeared shortly afterward and told the contestants to leave the venue. The Top 16 matches would be held the following day.
