The red light on the Poké Ball flashed. A few seconds later, it went out completely, and the ball fell still. Chu Xin picked it up from the ground. It seemed he had successfully caught this Slowpoke.
Chu Xin looked at the Poké Ball in his hand, silently considering his thoughts.
This Slowpoke was reasonably strong. Being able to battle Electrike for so long put it among the stronger ones. But that was not what had caught Chu Xin's interest. He was interested in its other unusual qualities.
First were Slowpoke's clear eyes. These remarkable Pokémon had a tremendous drawback.
Although they were known as the legendary sages of the sea and possessed powerful Psychic energy within their bodies, most Slowpoke could not withstand that power before evolving into Slowking. As a result, the vast majority remained under its oppressive influence, leaving them in a dazed state.
Yet the Slowpoke Chu Xin had caught showed no signs of that. Its eyes were exceptionally clear, and its reactions in battle were particularly quick. It seemed no different from an ordinary Pokémon.
Although that was simply how ordinary Pokémon behaved in battle, for a Slowpoke, it was an enormous advantage.
Slowpoke were inherently powerful Pokémon. Like Slaking, their abilities far exceeded those of ordinary Pokémon. But because of Truant, Slaking had no value as a Pokémon to raise, even with attributes on par with a pseudo-legendary.
Slowpoke's dazed disposition likewise meant that few people chose to raise them. Still, their strength was beyond question. The Psychic power within their bodies could even rival Abra's.
That was why even Chu Xin, who was extremely particular about Pokémon, had wanted to catch this clearheaded Slowpoke upon seeing it. A clearheaded Slowpoke was like a Slaking without the Truant Ability-absolutely on par with a pseudo-legendary!
