Chu Xin gazed across the vast plains, where lush grass grew everywhere. It felt as though he had stepped into Green Grassland. The scent of damp earth washed over him, a world apart from the swamp they had just left. Even the Nidoran beside Luo Luo had perked up.
After leaving the swamp, Nidoran finally stopped being afraid. It left Luo Luo's side on its own and began romping across the plains. Being here felt like coming home, and its earlier fear vanished. It even approached Chu Xin and rubbed against his trouser leg.
Chu Xin watched Nidoran frolic across the plains as he strolled leisurely through the area with Luo Luo. Crossing the swamp had thoroughly exhausted him, and a walk through such pleasant surroundings was a good way to unwind.
But just as Chu Xin was enjoying the comfortable surroundings, a commotion in the distance shattered his peace. He looked toward the noise and saw dust billowing into the air. A group of Nidoran, led by a Nidoking and a Nidoqueen, was charging toward him.
"Looks like Nidoran's family has come looking for it."
Chu Xin chatted with Luo Luo beside him. As someone who had helped save Nidoran, he saw no reason to worry about his situation.
Yet as Luo Luo watched the furious Nidoran group, an uneasy feeling stirred.
"Why does that whole herd look so hostile to me? They don't seem friendly at all. Could they have mistaken you for one of the Thieves?"
Hearing Luo Luo's words, Chu Xin looked at the charging Nidoran group, and his heart sank. Now that Luo Luo had mentioned it, those Nidoran really did look hostile. Had they actually mistaken me for one of the Thieves?
