Registration for the selection competition lasted a full week. A few days earlier, Chu Xin had seen only 500 people signed up, but by the time registration closed today, that number had climbed past 2,000!
Chu Xin looked at the number displayed on his Badge and sighed in despair. With so many people competing, getting selected for the Academy Tournament team would be incredibly difficult!
The Academy Tournament team needed only six people. Two would be regular members, competing as main players just like Zhuo Yue and the others, while the remaining four would be substitutes.
Picking six people out of two thousand-the elimination rate was staggering!
He had no idea how Zhuo Yue and the others planned to conduct the selection. With this many participants, a format like the Kendo Championship's would take until next year at the very least!
Chu Xin looked down at the Badge in his hand, puzzled. After closing the projection, he fiddled with the Badge, occasionally tossing it into the air.
With so many people, they probably would not use the same format as the Kendo Championship. That format only suited smaller competitions, and with 2,000 people, it was no longer practical. The format used in the Monster Handler assessment competition Chu Xin had entered would not work either. An elimination tournament for over 2,000 people required far too much space. Even though most students had left Jindu Academy for the holidays, freeing up plenty of venues, that format still would not work.
The number of referees and venues needed for a 2,000-person elimination tournament was staggering. Jindu Academy simply could not manage a tournament like that on its own.
