Pokémon: Azelf Ability Levitate Roles Wallbreaker, pivot, setup sweeper, hazard setter, fast attacker, stallbreaker, Knock Off user Assessment
One look at Blue Mushroom and you knew this was Ash's style. Not a bad play.
In contrast to the squinting Yellow, Blue Mushroom was all about charging headfirst into the fray. Although not as extreme as that cockroach from a later generation or the alien before it, it still represented a major breakthrough among Sub-Legendaries. Blue Mushroom boasted a high base Speed of 115 and base 125 in both attacking stats. Its bulk was low, but not so low that just anything could OHKO it, making it a classic mixed attacker. Its special movepool had pretty much everything it needed except Ice Beam, while its physical side offered U-turn and Explosion. As a result, every time Genesect briefly surfaced before getting banned, Blue Mushroom became the first replacement that flustered trainers reached for to fill its slot. Whatever the case, Blue Mushroom's damage output and self-sacrificial tendencies really did resemble Ash. Compared with Genesect's habit of sneaking in damage, Blue Mushroom was more like Offensive Azelf/Fast Azelf, burning itself up to spearhead the whole team's offense. It was currently doing reasonably well in OU, with usage reaching 2%. The strength of offensive teams certainly gave Blue Mushroom a favorable environment to make an appearance.
Sinnoh's Lake Guardians were rather tragic, radiating cannon-fodder energy from beginning to end, whether they were
