Lucario looked like a real-world dog, with an imposing appearance. A spike protruded from the back of each paw and from the chest, and the upper body was slender while the lower body was more powerfully built. Mega Lucario had more black markings, more fur behind the head, darker coloring, and red feet. The cream-colored fur on the body grew longer, while the thighs became thinner. More spikes grew from the backs of the paws and the feet.

By sensing an opponent's aura, Lucario could read their thoughts and actions, understand human speech, and even discern the emotions of an opponent over a kilometer away. Lucario also learned things that were better left unknown, making stress easy to accumulate. It was said that sensing these waves allowed Lucario to perceive even the shape of an unseen opponent. Because Lucario could understand human thoughts, only Trainers with upright hearts were allowed close. Lucario could do more than read aura; controlling it was also possible. Lucario used the power of aura to hunt, and that power could shatter even enormous rocks.
Mega Lucario's Mega Evolution energy mixed with aura and surged wildly through the body, covering it in black markings. Mega Evolution caused the aura to expand. Bathed in explosive energy, Mega Lucario's fighting instincts awakened, driving merciless attacks against enemies. Mega Lucario focused completely on challenging the enemy directly ahead, with a fighting style best described in one word: "ruthless."
Lucario was an absolute fan favorite among Pokémon, working overtime in both doujinshi and official media. Ever since DP, Ash had battled more Lucario than anyone could count, and its doujinshi appearance rate hardly needed mentioning.
