Ch. 162Azelf Stone: Replicating the Magnetic Field

Chu Xin showed Chen Huan the Azelf Stone, whose power could suppress the Dynamax Dragonite’s will in Xiao Wu’s Outrage scale, though it also weakened Xiao Wu’s own will. He then gave Chen Huan data on Dragon Valley’s magnetic field and asked him to replicate it, leaving Chen Huan to investigate.

  • Chen Huan felt his will weaken when he held the Azelf Stone, and Chu Xin explained that it carried Azelf’s power from the Lake Guardians.
  • Chen Huan said the stone could suppress the Dynamax Dragonite’s fighting spirit in Xiao Wu’s Outrage scale, while warning that Xiao Wu ultimately needed to master that will himself.
  • Chen Huan made Xiao Wu a necklace to hold the Azelf Stone, and Chu Xin accepted responsibility for supervising Xiao Wu’s training.
  • Chu Xin gave Chen Huan Luo Luo’s documents on Dragon Valley’s special magnetic field and asked him to replicate it.
  • Chen Huan agreed to test whether he could reproduce the magnetic field and contact Chu Xin if he succeeded.

Ch. 163A little class showdown

Chu Xin returned to his dorm and learned that he had been reinstated as Class One’s class monitor after placing fourth in the Freshman Training Match. Bai Le and Zhuo Xing signed him up to answer Class Two’s challenge, leaving Chu Xin set to fight their students one after another.

  • Chu Xin returned to his dorm, put aside Electrike’s training, and fell asleep before Bai Le and Zhuo Xing arrived.
  • Bai Le told Chu Xin that their homeroom teacher had made him class monitor again because of his fourth-place finish in the Freshman Training Match.
  • Bai Le explained that Class Two had challenged Class One, and Zhuo Xing revealed that he held a grudge after Class Two wore him down with successive opponents.
  • Bai Le said he had already signed Chu Xin up to take on Class Two’s students one after another, and Chu Xin agreed to participate.

Ch. 164Gauntlet battle

Bai Le led Class One to challenge Class Two in a six-person gauntlet battle, with Chu Xin fighting alone for his class. Xiao Wu quickly defeated two opponents, and Class Two’s monitor planned to wear Chu Xin down with the remaining fighters.

  • Bai Le and Zhuo Xing led Class One to Class Two and agreed to a gauntlet battle with six participants.
  • Bai Le sent Chu Xin into the arena as Class One’s sole fighter.
  • Chu Xin sent out Xiao Wu, his evolved Dragonair, against a Class Two student’s Vaporeon and Totodile.
  • Xiao Wu knocked out Vaporeon and Totodile almost instantly, leaving Chu Xin puzzled that the two-on-two match had ended so quickly.
  • Class Two’s monitor encouraged the next fighters to wear Chu Xin down through the gauntlet.

Ch. 165The battle ends in a foregone victory

Chu Xin and Xiao Wu faced Class Two in a six-on-six battle, but Xiao Wu's overwhelming strength carried them through despite Chu Xin trying to make the match look even. Class Two's class monitor lost their final matchup, and Chu Xin's side won.

  • Xiao Wu defeated several Class Two students in succession, while their class monitor mistook his listlessness for exhaustion.
  • Chu Xin told Xiao Wu to hold back, but Xiao Wu fell asleep to Chikorita's Sleep Powder and instinctively knocked Chikorita out with Sleep Talk and Twister.
  • Class Two's class monitor sent out Golem and used Rollout with Defense Curl against the sleeping Xiao Wu.
  • Chu Xin ordered Xiao Wu to use Protect against Golem's charge, and Xiao Wu blocked it before defeating Golem with Dragon Rage.
  • Class Two's class monitor admitted defeat, and Chu Xin told Bai Le that their side had won.

Ch. 166Training Electrike

Chu Xin began training Electrike, who wanted to become strong, by setting up a sparring match with Xiao Wu. After Xiao Wu defeated Electrike at speed, Chu Xin comforted him and urged him to keep training.

  • Chu Xin decided to train Electrike after weighing which of his Pokémon could fairly face his classmates.
  • Chu Xin brought Electrike and Xiao Wu to the training grounds, where Kaka was already following Luo Luo's training plan.
  • Chu Xin asked Luo Luo to oversee Electrike's training and chose Xiao Wu as his sparring partner.
  • Electrike charged at Xiao Wu with impressive speed, but Xiao Wu used Extreme Speed to catch up and knock him out of the battle.
  • Chu Xin comforted the tearful Electrike and encouraged him to keep training, while Xiao Wu resented being made out to be the villain.

Ch. 167The Primal Reversion Laboratory

Chu Xin took Xiao Wu to Chen Huan’s laboratory to try a training room that reproduced Dragon Valley’s magnetic field. The field had been replicated in a tiny room, and Chu Xin hoped it might help Xiao Wu gain a rudimentary grasp of Primal Reversion.

  • After losing to Xiao Wu, Electrike asked Luo Luo to prepare a speed-focused training regimen.
  • Chu Xin explained that he had chosen Xiao Wu as Electrike’s rival so Electrike would work toward matching his speed.
  • Chu Xin persuaded Xiao Wu to come with him by promising a chance to beat Kaka fairly.
  • Chu Xin and Xiao Wu found Chen Huan’s newly built training room, which could reproduce Dragon Valley’s magnetic field only in a small space.
  • Chu Xin decided Xiao Wu should try training in the simulated field and hoped he might learn the basics of Primal Reversion.

Ch. 168Luo Luo's Complaints

Chu Xin and Chen Huan tested a laboratory that replicated Dragon Valley’s magnetic field, but Xiao Wu found it much weaker, so Chu Xin left Xiao Wu’s training plan to Luo Luo. Luo Luo protested that its workload was already overwhelming and asked Chu Xin to find more Breeding Rotom to help.

  • Chu Xin brought Xing Xiaomu into Chen Huan’s laboratory, where Chen Huan explained that the equipment could simulate Dragon Valley’s magnetic field.
  • Chu Xin and Chen Huan activated the equipment, and Xiao Wu reported that the magnetic field felt much weaker than Dragon Valley’s.
  • Chu Xin concluded that the training room could only supplement Xiao Wu’s training and left the training plan to Luo Luo.
  • Luo Luo angrily listed its many training and analysis duties for Kaka and Electrike, then asked Chu Xin to find more Breeding Rotom to share the simpler tasks.
  • Chu Xin explained that Breeding Rotom research was ongoing, and Luo Luo said weaker Rotom could still collect information while it handled decisions as their central processor.

Ch. 169The Growth of His Companions

Chu Xin arranged four Rotom assistants to lighten Luo Luo’s workload, then agreed to let Luo Luo advise Bai Le and Zhuo Xing on training their Pokémon. At the Battle Department training room, Chu Xin saw Abra practicing psychic control and Scyther training its speed.

  • Chu Xin obtained four newly trained Rotom from the Dean, and Luo Luo delegated basic data collection to them.
  • Bai Le visited Chu Xin and asked to borrow Luo Luo to help train his and Zhuo Xing’s Pokémon.
  • Luo Luo agreed to help, and Chu Xin followed Bai Le to the Battle Department’s training room.
  • Chu Xin watched Zhuo Xing direct Abra through psychic power exercises and saw Bai Le’s Scyther slash at rubber bullets during speed training.

Ch. 170Abra vs. Electrike

Chu Xin explained how he used Luo Luo to collect opponents’ battle data and offered to analyze Bai Le and Zhuo Xing’s Pokémon to create training plans. Electrike defeated Zhuo Xing’s Abra, and Luo Luo announced that the data collection was complete.

  • Chu Xin revealed that he had recorded battle data on many Academy and outside opponents, leaving Bai Le and Zhuo Xing stunned by his preparation.
  • Chu Xin proposed battling their Pokémon while Luo Luo recorded and analyzed the results.
  • Zhuo Xing sent out Abra, and Chu Xin chose Electrike because Xiao Wu and Kaka were training.
  • Abra used Psychic Terrain and Psychic, but Electrike dodged with Quick Attack and struck Abra with Shock Wave.
  • Electrike followed with Thunder Fang and Thunderbolt, defeating Abra despite Zhuo Xing ordering it to endure.
  • Luo Luo reported that data collection was complete and called for the next Pokémon.

Ch. 171A battle of cunning

Bai Le battled Chu Xin and tested his command skills against Electrike. Chu Xin outmaneuvered Scyther with Dig and a Substitute, leaving Bai Le defeated.

  • After Zhuo Xing lost to Chu Xin, Bai Le entered the field with Scyther to challenge Electrike.
  • Bai Le used Double Team and the sun’s glare to hide Scyther overhead while it prepared with Focus Energy.
  • Chu Xin sent Electrike underground with Dig, prompting Bai Le to have Scyther track and attack it.
  • Scyther struck Electrike’s Substitute, then the real Electrike emerged and knocked Scyther out with Thunder.
  • Bai Le admitted defeat, while Luo Luo began analyzing the battle footage.

Ch. 172Training Plans Complete!

After defeating Bai Le and Zhuo Xing, Chu Xin had Luo Luo prepare tailored training plans for their Pokémon. Luo Luo explained how Zhuo Xing should train Abra’s psychic control and encouraged Bai Le that his Scyther could eventually keep pace with his brother Bai Yuan.

  • Chu Xin told Bai Le and Zhuo Xing that Luo Luo had finished collecting their Pokémon’s data and could create training plans.
  • Luo Luo explained to Zhuo Xing that Abra needed to improve its control of psychic power through repeated Teleports rather than simply building up its reserves.
  • Luo Luo told Bai Le that his Scyther was well trained but still far behind Bai Yuan’s, and gave him a plan that could help him keep pace with his brother.
  • Bai Le regained hope of following behind Bai Yuan without falling further behind, while Zhuo Xing recognized her mistakes in training Abra.
  • Luo Luo advised Bai Le and Zhuo Xing to ask the Dean for Rotom to record their Pokémon’s training data.

Ch. 173Xiao Wu's Path to Greater Strength

Chu Xin sought Chen Huan’s help to train Xiao Wu with the Dragonite Outrage scale, but Chen Huan warned that mastering the ancient Dynamax Dragonite’s will was impossible. The chapter ended with Chen Huan explaining that he knew the scale’s immense power firsthand from excavating the fossil.

  • Chu Xin attended classes while Bai Le and Zhuo Xing trained their Pokémon, but Electrike’s strength continued to outpace theirs.
  • Kaka learned Bulldoze from a Move Manual and defeated Xiao Wu’s Dig tactic, prompting Xiao Wu to train seriously to reclaim his place on the team.
  • Chu Xin considered using the Dragonite Outrage scale to strengthen Xiao Wu and went to the Research Center to ask Chen Huan for help.
  • Chen Huan complained that his Dynamax research had run out of funding, and Chu Xin offered to ask his father about investing in it.
  • Chu Xin asked Chen Huan to help Xiao Wu master the Dynamax Dragonite’s will within the Outrage scale, but Chen Huan tried to leave and refused.
  • Chen Huan explained that he had helped excavate the ancient Dragonite fossil and knew its power, so mastering its will was a pipe dream.

Ch. 174Heading to the Plateau

Chu Xin decided to travel to the Western Plateau with Chen Huan and the Dragon Tamer Elite Four to resolve the obsession of a powerful Dynamax Dragonite whose will affected Xiao Wu’s Outrage. After arriving and recovering from altitude sickness, they began planning the journey to the fossil and learned they needed an experienced guide.

  • Chen Huan warned Chu Xin that the Dragonite’s will was too powerful for Xiao Wu, but Chu Xin proposed that resolving the Dragonite’s lingering obsession might let Xiao Wu control Outrage.
  • Chu Xin decided to go to the Western Plateau, and the Dragon Tamer Elite Four agreed to join the expedition after Chu Xin called him.
  • Chen Huan, Chu Xin, and the Dragon Tamer Elite Four flew west and reached the plateau, where Chu Xin suffered from altitude sickness.
  • Chen Huan gave Chu Xin oxygen, and Chu Xin recovered enough to continue with Chen Huan and Ai Xing to an inn.
  • Chen Huan showed Chu Xin and Ai Xing the map location of the Dragonite Fossil and said they would need a very experienced guide.

Ch. 175Chatter on the Road

Chen Huan, Chu Xin, and Ai Xing prepared to enter the Uninhabited Zone in search of the Dragonite Fossil, but learned that rumors of valuable fossils had drawn many people there. They set off with an inexperienced guide, wary that others might reach or damage their target first.

  • Chen Huan told Chu Xin that they needed an experienced guide and sent him and Ai Xing to gather camping supplies while he searched for one.
  • Ai Xing and Chu Xin visited outdoor stores, where they found supplies running low because a foreign company's expedition and treasure rumors had sent many people into the wilderness.
  • Chen Huan returned with a young, inexperienced guide after learning the experienced guides had all left for the Uninhabited Zone.
  • The guide explained that an expedition team had returned with fossils and that rumors of a reward had prompted others to search the Uninhabited Zone for more.
  • Chen Huan, Chu Xin, and Ai Xing realized the searchers might damage the Dragonite Fossil and hurried into the Uninhabited Zone with the guide.

Ch. 176Pokémon that hurt people!

Chu Xin and his companions traveled through the uninhabited zone, discussing fossil hunting and settling down for the night beneath a clear starry sky. They found a badly wounded person, and Chen Huan and Ai Xing concluded that a Pokémon with a Trainer had caused the injury.

  • Chu Xin, Chen Huan, and Ai Xing discussed why people searched the uninhabited zone for fossils and suspected that a previous foreign expedition had entered illegally to collect them.
  • After traveling about a third of the route in a day, Chu Xin and his companions camped, ate dinner prepared by their guide, and admired the stars.
  • Chu Xin spotted what looked like a person lying in the dark and ran over with Ai Xing to investigate.
  • Ai Xing and Chen Huan examined the wounded person and determined that a Pokémon had inflicted the serious injury.
  • Ai Xing concluded that the Pokémon must have a Trainer because wild Pokémon usually did not seriously injure people.

Ch. 177Thief

Ai Xing, Chu Xin, and Chen Huan rescued the injured reporter Li Xing in the Uninhabited Zone and learned that a foreign expedition was poaching fossils and had captured her guide. After Li Xing identified Ai Xing as an Elite Four member, the group decided to rest and deal with the expedition the next day.

  • Ai Xing carried an injured young woman into the tent, where he and the guide treated her wounds and Chen Huan found her press ID identifying her as reporter Li Xing.
  • Li Xing woke in a panic and demanded that someone call the police, then calmed down when Ai Xing reassured her.
  • Li Xing explained that she had investigated reports of fossil smuggling and found the missing foreign expedition camped in the Uninhabited Zone.
  • Li Xing said the expedition had attacked her and her guide with flying Pokémon, leaving her injured and taking the guide captive.
  • Ai Xing and Chen Huan agreed the expedition was dangerous and decided to rest until morning, while Ai Xing said he would share Chu Xin’s tent.

Ch. 178The nighttime attack

Chu Xin, Ai Xing, Chen Huan, and Li Xing found the abandoned poachers’ camp, reported the thieves to the authorities, and continued toward the Dragonite Fossil. That night, the thieves attacked their camp, but Ai Xing and Chu Xin exposed them and prepared to fight back.

  • Chu Xin and the others reached the camp Li Xing remembered, but found it empty; Ai Xing discovered a foreign cigarette butt, and Vespiquen confirmed that many people had stayed there before leaving.
  • Ai Xing contacted the higher-ups, who agreed to send people after the thieves, and invited the injured Li Xing to stay with the group as they continued their journey.
  • Li Xing asked Chu Xin about the trip and learned that the group was searching for a powerful Dynamax Dragonite fossil.
  • Several Golbat and Koffing attacked the group’s tents with Hyper Beam, but Ai Xing, Chen Huan, and their Pokémon blocked the blasts.
  • The thieves tried to escape under Koffing’s Haze, but Chu Xin sent out Xiao Wu, whose Twister cleared the haze and exposed them.
  • Ai Xing Mega Evolved Garchomp and ordered it to finish the thieves.

Ch. 179Parting for Now

Ai Xing captured Thieves who were stealing fossil resources and learned that their main mission was to find a particular fossil. He left Chu Xin, Chen Huan, and Li Xing to pursue the poachers, but his attempt to infiltrate their base failed, so he began attacking it openly.

  • Ai Xing captured and pressured the Thieves, who eventually revealed that they had stolen more than a dozen fossils and were searching for a particular one.
  • Ai Xing told Chu Xin and Chen Huan that he had to pursue the Thieves, while Li Xing chose to continue traveling with them.
  • Ai Xing met fifteen special police officers and learned that more reinforcements were on the way.
  • Ai Xing located the Thieves' base, but Spearow spotted him before he could infiltrate it.
  • Ai Xing and Garchomp defeated the Spearow and their Thief owners, then Ai Xing called the officers to handle them and prepared to clear the base.

Ch. 180Legion Moves

Ai Xing broke into the Thieves’ base, defeated their leader and a Golbat legion, and found that they had destroyed the information there. Meanwhile, Chu Xin’s group continued toward the Dynamax Dragonite fossil as another Thieves group learned Ai Xing had left and prepared to deal with them.

  • Ai Xing bypassed the Thieves’ maze with Garchomp’s Dig and fought off the patrols that confronted him.
  • The Thieves’ leader sent Noivern and twenty-two Golbat against Ai Xing, combining their sound moves into a Legion Move.
  • Ai Xing summoned Gyarados, Charizard, and Dragonite, whose combined Dragon Pulse knocked out the Thieves and their Pokémon.
  • Ai Xing found that the Thieves had destroyed the base’s information, called for his teammates, and left their interrogation to the special operations team.
  • Chu Xin’s group avoided most Thieves, while Chen Huan used Vespiquen to defeat a few who tried to stop them.
  • Spearow reported to another Thieves group that Ai Xing had left but Chu Xin’s group was still approaching, and their boss said they would deal with them.

Ch. 181Vespiquen showed her stuff

Li Xing learned about Chen Huan’s Dynamax Energy research, and Chen Huan demonstrated his Dynamax Band while they traveled. When a wild Dynamax Tyranitar attacked, Chen Huan and Vespiquen defeated it with a swarm of Combee.

  • Li Xing recognized Chen Huan as the researcher whose doctorate had been revoked over the side effects of Dynamax Energy.
  • Chen Huan told Li Xing he had developed a Dynamax Band that could store Dynamax Energy, and Chu Xin showed her that he had one too.
  • A wild Tyranitar charged at the vehicle and Dynamaxed, so Chen Huan sent out Vespiquen and Dynamaxed it to fight.
  • Tyranitar surprised Vespiquen with Ice-type Hidden Power and Rock Throw, but Chen Huan used Vespiquen’s Combee to block the rocks and surround Tyranitar.
  • Chen Huan ordered the Combee to fire Hyper Beam, knocking Tyranitar unconscious and ending its Dynamax form.
