The next instant, the buildings in the area covered by darkness began to sink slowly, clearly being swallowed by the darkness on the ground. Along with it came a powerful gravitational pull, streaming ceaselessly from the darkness. Having taken that heavy punch, Marco hurriedly steadied himself and beat his wings repeatedly, moving away from that forbidden zone of darkness.
The visual effects of Blackbeard's move were turned all the way up. The darkness blotted out everything, as though an abyss had descended upon the world.
It looked slow, but it was actually very fast. The darkness devoured every building within its range, leaving nothing on the ground but churning darkness. Blackbeard stood motionless in that sea of darkness. His appearance might not have been particularly impressive, but at that moment, he was like a king crowned by darkness.
Nor was that sea of darkness calm. It churned and compressed constantly, crushing the buildings it had just sucked inside. It was easy to imagine that being sucked into the darkness would feel anything but pleasant. This was clearly a miniature black hole!
